Fine. But I'd like the 1.4 figure confirmed too. If so I'd agree that it's low for this market. Would have expected nearer 2 or 3.

What did you expect! Pope slagged off in favour of Henderson ( no idea why) and cannot see lookman going anywhereSouthWest_Addicks said:With Cousins gone and JBG going we have lost our best two players from last season.
Additionally, our two most promising younger players from last season. Pope and Lookman are very sought after aswell.
I am starting to worry our season strategy will be based around Ajose and Novak scoring enough goals for us to win matches and no plan B0 -
This is the South London press bit today, I have highlighted bits that I believe are especially significant.
'Jordan Cousins has admitted that Charlton’s relegation to League One was a major factor in his decision to call time on his Valley career.
The 22-year-old midfielder signed for QPR this evening.
And Cousins - speaking exclusively to the South London Press - said: “I just felt it was the right time.
“A huge thing was relegation and the step down to League One. For my personal development and personal goals it was the right time to leave.
“It was kind of like the last straw.”
When asked if he would have left the Addicks anyway, the back-to-back Player of the Year winner added: “It all depends how last season would have went.
“If we had been promoted or had a chance of getting promoted then maybe it would have been different and I’d have stayed.
“My aim is to be in the Premier League and a club that aspires to be in the Premier League. So it would have depended where we had finished in the Championship.”'
Sheesh no need to read between the lines.
LAST straw.
Last.
LAST, on top of god knows what other chite.
Despite it being criticised here, it is reported that the players loved the Pinocchio protest especially.15 -
Proud of you, notMendonca In Asdas said:Wow we are crap at negotiating, still leopards and spots and all that, pleased I cancelled my valley gold and 4 season tickets, we are a farce.

Is this the right time to remind everyone thst Richard Murray said the days of Charlton selling our best players on the cheap were over with the arrival of Duchatalet. One relegation and one useless CEO later, seems like that was just another fairy tale for the idiot fans to be happy with.

Looks like the standed get rid of 14 players sign 6 and think you have a competitive team.
Good luck to him tho

Roland why would you buy from your rivals and give them money? Why not give your prime asset away for minimal return to your rivals? I suppose no matter, you're right we're not even a challenge to a crazily run lovely club with hoopy loopy fans. Bankrupt economies of an ever widening abyss.1

How much of the 1.2 is RD going to pocket for his own use? What ever is left after Jordan's agent has had his grubby hands on.1
-
Good luck to Jordan, always gave everything for us, which, had the others done so too would see us still in the PL let alone the Championship. I hope he goes on to a very successful career.
As for those on here saying he is replaceable, I assume they are the sa,e who said that about Andy Reid, Kermy and the other decent players that have left over the last 10 years. Trouble is, whilst every player is replaceable we always replace them with worse cast offs.1 -
This. What say you now Richard Murray ? If there was any serious ambition at the club, we would be keeping our best young players and not selling them. What I hope for is a team full of top Charlton players from the Academy who saw the best way at realising their ambitions was by staying at Charlton. The reality of the Duchatelet ownership is totally different. This Duchatelet ownership is bullshit.Nug said:ken_shabby said:Is this the right time to remind everyone thst Richard Murray said the days of Charlton selling our best players on the cheap were over with the arrival of Duchatalet. This regime is so abysmally, outrageously incompetent it would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.10

Maybe she didn't turn up for any actual leaving because he may have over exuberantly nutted her.
Edited to change the autocorrect which had changed the n to a b and could have given a different impression as a result1 -
I can confirm that bit. Never claimed to be ITK or anything like that but I did report this on here a while back. This came straight from the mouth of a player who said the players found it hilarious and took to refering to her as Pinocchio.seth plum said:

Not sure he'd want that posted on here mate.3 -

Absolutely gutted to see him go. Not surprised but still hoped he'd stay even though deep down I knew there was no chance...
I think we will come to regret this one far more than letting Morrison/Stephens/Kermorgant go for next to nothing.
Not because of the price but because of where he could have taken this club...3 -

Look on the bright side, if the fee is say £500k less than it could've been then that's the equivalent of a lot of season season tickets boycotted.
Other than that, I'm really struggling. It's just another punch delivered to an already beaten man.1 -
Absolutely - are we going to be a country of pensioners with no pensions in 10 years?ShootersHillGuru said:I was distraught about this until I learned that Philip Hammond is going to be Chancellor of the Exchequer and Boris Johnson is to be Foreign Secretary.
