Banks have reported credit interest paid to customers to HMRC since the early 1990’s
I phoned them up just in case and after being on hold for over an hour they assured me that I didn’t need to do anything- much to my relief!

Back down to 7684 now, so I reckon golfie is doing a golfie
It sailed through 7680 & stopped this evening at 7715. Only 5 more trading days left (I think thats right) and it's still too early to say where it might finish on 31st Dec.

My hunch is some profit taking will occur & it will finish below 7700....probably nearer to 7650.
  • Currently 7676. Golfie getting very excited!

As I always say, you need a balanced portfolio - which in essence is Equities, Bonds & Property (Commercial). The proportion of which is determined by your risk attitude.

Also, I wonder who recommended those 2 funds   ;)

Oi! I had the Jupiter one before! But the Waverton one does have a better record over 5 years.

I've got very little in bonds, <5% but that's a good recent swing for sure.

Bought a few BP.B and Aviva.A pref shares a month ago to give myself a decent yield for the longer term as interest rates gradually fall. Theyve done ok, Aviva up 4% including the dividend now payable and BP up 6.3%. Content to just leave these for the long term, and might top BP up a bit before they push higher.
  • 7740 right now. Could be looking at my second victory if it goes up just a little bit more.

I have just had a hot tip. Please share widely.Tomorrow morning the men in grey suits will come for Sunak. The IEA have ensured that Liz Truss will make a shock comeback. The FTSE100 will be shocked enough to shed 170 points and I will win.

I mean, otherwise it's more likely we will win 3-0 at the Gas than I win this bloody thing ;)

I could just do with a bit of light selling / housekeeping & the Index falls by around 30 points.

Also a quick look at my SIPP & I reckon I'm up by approx 7.5% this year. Virtually all of that over the past 2 months.
  • Getting interesting on the contest front!

Pah! About as interesting as a Charlton corner😉

11.5% for me.  About two thirds of that in the last quarter.
  • Well my crypto is up about 120% on the 12 months. But that is still in recovery mode as I'm about £1700 down from investment outlay, as the £2000 in Alts have matured to a healthy £300. The devil is in the detail.
  • I have 7733.24 as the close?

The last couple of months have really helped the pension.  Up 7.28% for the 12 months, but most of that is in the last 2 months, where it is up 8.04%. It’s been a poor time, investment wise, since I started the pension (coming out of my work scheme in order to retire early) in July 2021, but we’re getting there now 😮‍💨😉

That's 3rd place for me following winning this competition the time before last.
It's nice to finish above so many people with more knowledge than me.
    Well done Lonelynorthern addick.

Great fun this competition thanks for doing it Rob7Lee

It certainly has been a great couple of months. My gain in December just beat Novembers which was already the best month since I switched providers 18 months ago.

Yes very well done, also to everyone really, it's only fun but to see so many people within a percent or two of the outcome is impressive!

I'll do it again for 30th June, but will come back on here in the new year to officially do.
