Derby County’s Under-23s secured top spot in Premier League Group C with a 2-1 victory at Charlton Athletic on Friday night.

  • The Derby lad Courtney Clarke, who is now 18, I saw play for Whyteleafe in step 4 about 18 months ago, and he was a strong lad playing in men's football But I didn't pick him out as I couldn't see the skill set needed, so I was surprised when he got the contract with Derby County. A water carrier type midfielder who was compared to a young Patrick Viera when he was 16 !

Just watched the Clip and he was the Derby lad who made the mistake for Galvin's goal.

I hope he makes it as he's another Kinetic academy boy. Deji, Aribo, Maja, Norrington-Davies (Sheffield United) Omar Richards (Bayern Munich)
  • Odd scheduling to have the U23s playing at home lunchtime, and the U18s tonight, away in the youth cup

Typical! useless Comms team overloading fans with too much coverage : - )

    Sort it out @Ollywozere
  • Where is the line up for the U23s?

    Who are the two trialists?

Who is Finn Skiverton and is he a wingback?

  • usually I go to princes park but out until about 2.
very pleased to catch a half, and especially the game this evening.

really pleased to see Sam Oguntayo back after an injury in pre-season.

As a proper wingback would have got a few first team games by now I think.

Another run out for Lavelle too. Can't be far away from the first team now.
    Agree about Oguntayo

    He impressed me pre season.

Slighty surprised Davison isn't involved, as we are very thin up top, especially with the U18s also playing today (which is what I was questioning)

I'm pretty confident Davison & Kirk are in the process of discussing moves (loans or permanent).

Same here, really rated him from the little we saw. Certainly better than Souare.

Kirk Loan, Davison Perm i'd assume if it were the case, or both in contention for the weekend?

He also ticks the box of (my usual obsession) of being left footed and I feel he would fit very well into the current formation.

It's currently the bee in my bonnet that fringe 1st team players, especially the younger ones, don't play any football at all.

Even the older ones.  How can you expect someone that hasn't played at all in God knows how long to suddenly be up to speed and match fit, let alone actually improve.

Should be on now (big delays first half for injuries to Watford player and then ref - needed to find sub lino from the crowd)
  • Aaron Henry is putting in a series of credible performances in the last month or so.
  • That'll teach me.
  • Terrible pen

    Jinx
  • Got out of jail there
  • Should have won that easily.

Shows the potential against a premier league side.
  • Dylan Gavin is the dogs danglies imho
  • I should add that Richard Chin has also had a lovely consistency this season, good to see him recovered.

Missing a penalty in a game like that leads to that kind of result.
