We clearly signed Castillo and John to beef up our U23s, when other players are out on loan or in the first team!
With no midweek game, it puzzles me why none of the senior players have been given a runout.
Harness or Henderson for example, as both haven't played for a while. Souare? Ben Watson, as his experience would be useful for the kids out there.2 -
These last couple of games have shown that a lot of the promising youngsters need more time... Instead of calls for them to replace First Team players, simply because results havent been good enough.
Half the U23s are out on loan so its always going to look a struggle for Campbell who is now playing above his age group
Mason Burstow for the first team, I feel, is no different. These last couple of months he should have been playing for the age group, not the first team. Instead injuries have meant that he's been forced to step up, and has clearly shown he's not ready for regular Football League action, so gets written off.
If we didnt have so many Strikers out, I doubt he'd have caught the eye of Chelsea so soon, and wouldn't have signed for them - Instead we cashed in, and because it was so late, needed him back else we had no one... OR we'd have thrown in Kanu / Campbell and we'd be thinking of them as over hyped as well.7 -
Henderson injured ….this is the problem with modern day football no reserve league like the old combination.. that was very competitive and kept those players out the side up to match fitness .. this is why so many players who come into the side need 2/3 games to get up to speedkillerandflash said:We clearly signed Castillo and John to beef up our U23s, when other players are out on loan or in the first team!
