Bradford City have parted company with manager Derek Adams after eight months in charge at the League Two club.

Bradford baffle me, how can they have been stuck in L2 midtable for so long (and even after Parky got them promoted during that golden period, they didn't stay up for long). At that level they're a giant, yet the likes of Cheltenham, Accrington and Morecambe have overtaken them.
I have either lived or worked in Bradford (funny enough never both at the same time, unless you count working from home) for over a decade.  It's not dissimilar to Leeds where I have also lived and worked for 20 years, some at the same time :p

Massive potential, when Parky was there the whole city was rocking, might as well have shut the shop when they played Villa.

Anyone that gets it right there will be a hero.
Poor you! That’s about Bradford by the way, Leeds is alright.
  • Dundee have sacked manager James McPake with the club sitting second bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

  • Mark McGhee has been appointed Dundee manager on a deal until the end of the season.

Depends where in Bradford.  If you live near the football ground 😳😳

The area outside the city is lovely.

Nearly 20 years since he managed Millwall, his career never recovered from that stain ;)
  • Steve Evans favourite for Bradford job.
  • St Mirren have granted manager Jim Goodwin permission to speak to Aberdeen about becoming their new boss.

    Now appointed
  • Reading Manager (not going to spell it) has left... Paul Ince has been named as his Interim replacement
  • Not the first time Ince has taken over a team after then sign his son.

Was expecting the sacking, wasn't expecting Ince to arrive. He's not managed since 2014

Weird timing too, as they sacked him after they actually won a game

Paul Ince! Still time for curbs to save us.

I suspect that it's the same old story when this happens. Everything is in place, including the manager's replacement, bar the announcement. Most of the time the plan to announce it coincides with another poor performance and on occasions, as part of a smooth "transition", the manager is informed and settlement agreed in advance of that game.
  • Morecambe's Manager: Stephen Robinson looks set to go to St Mirren

Surprised he's going back to Scotland, to a club that cant be much better than League One

Wonder if Morecambe will get Derek Adams back

This probably actually suits all parties.

Morecambe look like they are imminently destined to be a League 2 club though - they are in the relegation zone and have won just twice in their last 14 games. The likelihood is that he was going to be sacked shortly anyway and if Morecambe really wanted to keep him they would but have given permission to St Mirren to talk to Robinson having agreed a six figure fee as compensation. Adams is also going to be their highest paid Manager of all time. A change of manager at Morecambe might give them a "bounce" sufficient to keep them in the division.
  • St Mirren have appointed Stephen Robinson as their new manager after a compensation package was agreed with English League One side Morecambe.

The former Motherwell boss has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to succeed Jim Goodwin, who left for Aberdeen.

Morecambe would have expected relegation though, it was a miracle they went up at all, so I doubt they would have sacked Robinson

Getting a chastened Adams back is a perfect replacement so yes it does work out well
  • https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/17708127/roy-keane-sunderland-manager-contract/

ROY KEANE rejected a return to management with old club Sunderland because of the length of the contract.
The Black Cats would only guarantee the Sky Sports pundit a position for the season.
Keane was not happy with the length of contract he was offered by Sunderland
Keane, 50, would have needed to shelve his lucrative TV deal to risk it all on gaining League One promotion.
The Irishman was not concerned about the drop in wages but there was no chance for him to plan ahead with the initial suggestion of a short-term stay.
Grant McCann was also offered a similar short deal, likewise stalwart Neil Warnock.
In the end Alex Neil took the post on a reported one-year rolling contract.

  • Kenny Jackett sacked by Orient
  • Damn. Thought the 7 new posts tonight meant that Jacko has gone.
  • Kenny Jackett sacked by Orient
An amazing collapse there, when they were playoff contenders at the end of November. Now they have genuine relegation fears

2 point in the last 10
1 goal in the last 9

Joe Gallen (one of Steve's brothers) has also left
  • Carlisle sack Keith Millen
  • Carlisle sack Keith Millen
Only appointed at the end of October!

I'm sure there must be a high correlation between "3 managers in a season" and relegation. We've done it twice for a start - Dowie, Reed, Pardew and Luzon, Fraeye, Riga.

Another reason why Jackson cant be replaced between now and the end of the season...
  • Carlisle sack Keith Millen

Carlisle United have named Paul Simpson as manager for the remainder of the season to replace the departed Keith Millen, who left after 22 games.

Simpson returns to the Cumbrians for a second stint, having guided the club to back-to-back promotions in his first spell in charge at Brunton Park.

  • Matt Harrold and Brian Saah will take temporary charge at Orient. I had half expected Darren Pratley to be offered a role!
