Brighton have appointed Fabian Hurzeler, 31, as their manager, making him the youngest ever full-time boss of a Premier League team.

Hurzeler, who guided St Pauli to the Bundesliga 2 title last season by winning 20 of their 34 matches, has signed a contract until 2027.

Born in the USA (cue Bruce Springsteen) .. could be a masterful appointment by Tony Bloom
  • Macclesfield have appointed Robbie Savage as their head coach, while former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has also joined the club in an unspecified role.

Isnt Robbie Savage one of their owners?

As a result of achieving two promotions as well as reaching a play-off final and Isuzu FA Trophy semi-final within the Club’s first three years, it came as no surprise when Robbie was offered a senior role elsewhere recently.

Robbie subsequently agonised over this on numerous levels as it would have meant him relinquishing his role at Macclesfield FC – in addition to his shareholding.

This was something which the Board was not prepared to let happen and it was unanimously decided that Robbie should be given the chance to prove himself here at Macclesfield FC as he launches his coaching career with us.

As if they haven't suffered enough. The bloke is a complete twat.
  • No sign of Appleton getting another job yet.

I wonder if this is the occasion he doesn't manage to climb back onto the manager's merry-go-round or whether some other desperate Chairman gives him another chance?
  • Graham Potter looking set to be named the next Leicester Manager

Could be a minor blow to the FA if Southgate leaves in a few weeks.

Look on the bright side, it may take him off BBC 5Live 606

Wonder if the FA might go for Steve Cooper if that happens, won the u17 tournament with a few of the current squad etc.

I'd prefer either Carsley or Cooper like you say, both have experience already working within an International setup, and both have had success

The former will have worked with a few of the squad potentially, like you say - Whilst Carsley will no doubt promote some of his successful U21 stars in the coming years.
  • Now it seems that Cooper is the front runner for the Leicester job!

got a nasty feeling that he part owns the company that makes that load of rubbish
  • Cooper appointed at Leicester on a 3 year deal.
  • Newport have parted company with their Manager

Great time to do it to be fair, results these last few weeks have been shocking... They've been no where to be seen in games
  • Yes, they fell off a cliff at the end of the season. Strange to do it now rather than at the end of April when the season ended.
  • Cooper appointed at Leicester on a 3 year deal.
Maybe Cooper to Leicester and Potter to England rather than the other way around!

Wales have sacked Rob Page. It'll be interesting who they go for.
  • Wales have sacked manager Rob Page after three and a half years in charge.

Page, 49, led his country to a first World Cup in 64 years and guided them to the second round of Euro 2020.

Apparently last time they sacked someone they appointed Bobby Gould so maybe they'll go for another nutter
  • Jones 16-1
  • Manchester United have triggered a one-year extension in Erik ten Hag's contract to keep him at the club until 2026.

The Dutchman's previous deal, which he signed when he was appointed in 2022, was due to expire in 2025.

One cannot underestimate the lack of quality and how much they are missing the influence of Bale and Ramsey - 195 caps, 62 goals and countless assists between them too. How many of their current squad would get in the England squad as Bale and Ramsey would have done? How many are regulars in the PL? Brennan Johnson, Harry Wilson, Chris Mepham and who else? How many others are even at clubs in the PL? Their keeper, Danny Ward, played 9 games for Wales last season but had zero minutes for his club, Leicester, in the Championship. That says it all.

Yes they only drew with Gibraltar but their last game defeat to Slovakia who England narrowly beat (and Johnson was the only PL footballer to start) was their only loss in their last 10 matches. Seriously, what do they expect?
