Caretaker manager has now left Preston too, maybe they want a different manager for all 46 games? https://www.pnefc.net/news/2024/august/17/club-update-mike-marsh/

He had to go as his first training session was against the dusty bins and the 1st team lost 1-0 with a rebound from "Top bins"

You joke but Newcastle’s first team went 1-0 down under ardiles in a training match when there wasn’t any opposition!!!

    Had to look this up:

Steve Howey said: “We had a training session under Ossie, it’s called shadow play. He picks his eleven that’s going to start on the Saturday or through the week.

It’s your goalkeeper, a four (in defence), a four (in midfield), and a two (in attack) and you’ve got a full-sized pitch. You’re playing against nobody, get some goals, then come back and start again.

So, Ossie has set us up, we’ve took the kick-off, passed it back to Lee Clark, Lee Clark’s passed it back to Kevin Scott, again we’re playing backwards and we should be playing forwards cos we aren’t playing against anybody.

Kevin Scott gives it to Steve Watson, Steve Watson turns round and passes it back to Tommy Wright who’s in goal, but Tommy Wright was putting his gloves on in the back of the net, and the ball goes in the goal.

We’re getting beat 1-0 and we ain’t playing anyone. We were going through a really bad time at the time, and you could just see Ossie just rocking with his head in his hands.”

Wow. They've started the season poorly, but crazy timing to go through preseason with one manager, then sack him 10 days into the season

Former Celtic and Hibernian manager Neil Lennon has been sacked by Rapid Bucharest after just six matches.

  • Shame they couldn't have waited another month until we had played them.
  • Very surprising choice there from Blackpool, he did so well with his first spell, last year finished just outside the Play-Offs by just three points - This year has seen a poor start, but after just two games I'd expected them to turn it around under Critchley.

Guessing losing to the two promoted clubs hasn't helped

@Hertsseasider what are your thoughts on this one?

    That'll be me then.

Very pleased. He had lost the fans last season with wrong formations and team selections and i think there were signs he was losing the players as well already. 2 defeats against promoted sides and our only goal coming off our forwards backside !. Sadler, the owner, has to make the right call now in the new appointment. To be honest he does not have a good track record - Appleton (shudders), Mad Mick and then bringing back Critch who had previously walked out of the club to go to Villa with Stevie G. Ritchie Wellens being mentioned but in the meantime Uncle Richard Keogh takes charge at Cambridge on Saturday

I hope for your sake you don’t go for Wellens. Orient showed virtually nothing at the weekend

My view of Critchley and Blackpool is that he shouldn't have gone back. His disappointing second spell has tarnished his legacy.

Something is very wrong for them to go 4 games without a goal with the attacking players they have. If they are going to make a change then now is a good time to do it with 2 weeks until their next league game.
  • Steve Bruce is the new Blackpool manager!
  • what did the Seasiders do to deserve that?

Their owners/board is very loyal to Evatt despite large sections of that fan base feeling like his time has passed and should’ve left in the summer. If their form continues through September, it might be enough for most of ther fans to turn and if they’re say 10-12 points off top, Bolton will have a decision to make.

Great news for the Blackpool economy though, lots of business for all the takeaways!

Imagine being linked with the Jamaica job and ending up in Blackpool instead! How do you feel about the appointment @Hertsseasider?

    Blackpool is Steve Bruce's 13th Manager's Job:

    Sheff utd
    Huddersfield
    Wigan
    Palace
    Birmingham
    Wigan
    Sunderland
    Hull
    Aston Villa
    Sheffield Wed
    Newcastle
    West Brom
    Blackpool

The 63 year old just won't give up these very well paid jobs while they are being offered 👍🏻

It will be a real heavy weight contest when Blackpool play Rotherham!
  • How does cabbage head keep getting jobs?

Sacked from his last job 2 years ago with a 25% win record. Sacked from the job before that with a 28% win record.
