Paul Simpson sacked by Carlisle. 1 day after the window closes  :D
  • I wonder if Luton will be looking for a new manager soon?
  • I would imagine
the Bolton manager will be next.

Something is very wrong for them to go 4 games without a goal with the attacking players they have. If they are going to make a change then now is a good time to do it with 2 weeks until their next league game.
  • Steve Bruce is the new Blackpool manager!
  • what did the Seasiders do to deserve that?

Their owners/board is very loyal to Evatt despite large sections of that fan base feeling like his time has passed and should’ve left in the summer. If their form continues through September, it might be enough for most of ther fans to turn and if they’re say 10-12 points off top, Bolton will have a decision to make.

Great news for the Blackpool economy though, lots of business for all the takeaways!

Imagine being linked with the Jamaica job and ending up in Blackpool instead! How do you feel about the appointment @Hertsseasider?

    Blackpool is Steve Bruce's 13th Manager's Job:

    Sheff utd
    Huddersfield
    Wigan
    Palace
    Birmingham
    Wigan
    Sunderland
    Hull
    Aston Villa
    Sheffield Wed
    Newcastle
    West Brom
    Blackpool

The 63 year old just won't give up these very well paid jobs while they are being offered 👍🏻

It will be a real heavy weight contest when Blackpool play Rotherham!

  • How does cabbage head keep getting jobs?

Sacked from his last job 2 years ago with a 25% win record. Sacked from the job before that with a 28% win record.
  • Has he actually won anything in his managerial career?

    Promotion 4 times I guess.

But then half the time he's got teams relegated first.

So Blackpool for the League 2 title next year.
  • Maybe he's trying to manage 92 clubs in his career.

Stockport assistant coach Andy Mangan has been denied a move to Real Madrid after his work permit was rejected.

The former Tranmere and Shrewsbury striker was on the verge of joining the La Liga champions to work under boss Carlo Ancelotti, with the switch subject to a work permit.

which was rejected .. yet any old Carlos, Pierre or Ludwig seems to be able to sign for an English club in any league irrespective of their status as a 'top class' footballer .. I have highlighted this before, what are the rules used by the British Government to ascertain if a foreign footballer is good enough to qualify for a work permit ? .. does anybody know ?

There are rules and they actually did put huge restrictions in place which is why teams now have ESC places for people who don't meet the threshold. I think they're enforced by the FA rather than the gov
  • Ian Evatt at Bolton now surely on borrowed time.

Bizarre what's happened to Evatt and Bolton so far this season. Superb for us though to be 9 points above them!

    Right job. Wrong time. Presumably.
  • Most clubs don’t really sign managers from other clubs. Most are either out of contract managers, or the assistant manager who step ups. Usually too expensive with the compensation that need to be paid.
