    Don’t think he was the main problem at Swansea. A club that didn’t seem to know what it wanted. 3 completely contrasting styles of Duff to Williams to Alan Sheehan in 18 months while still in a relegation battle suggests the club is not working well.

    Think Peterborough have got a cracking hard working manager there. Will be a challenge for them and their squad to stay up but he can definitely do it. The job he did at Notts County was outstanding.

    It’s funny how Peterborough were often held as an example of a decently run club, especially in the way they scouted players.

    Yet now we don’t look that far from a reality where we could be in the premiership and they could be in league two.

    Obviously we’ve improved the way we are run beyond recognition, but does not feel like Peterborough have changed much.

    Victim.of their own success in signing low, selling high etc - I feel like players arrived well aware that they all wanted to use Peterbrough as a stepping stone only - they've had players only looking to sign shorter contracts, and then others happy to run their deal down, so in both cases resale isn't much.

    Plus if you're constantly losing good players and hoping gambles on lower league/non-league players work, it only takes a few misses and you're in trouble.

    The other problem is that they didn't adapt their plan. Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford all started their rise up the leagues by finding hidden gems but they were sensible enough to know they had to make tweaks as they continued progressing. You can't be a top end L1 team constantly raiding non league, you have to be looking for the undervalued L2, lower end L1 & Scottish players. To some extent it's what we did with the signings of Ramsay, Edwards, Jones, Mannion and Small (I know he was at Southampton but he was loaned out to Scotland)
