not a great turn out at the den today. guess the time of the game isn't great but I would of thought a few more would of bothered.
Not that long ago that a home tie for a 3rd division club against a local top league side in the 5th round would be a sell out. A symptom of how clubs view the importance of the competition now, which is a great shame.
A player can be sent off for showing his studs, even if he doesn't touch the opposing player. O'Brien can apparently launch himself through the air, clatter into a Watford player and mess him up, completely miss the ball and not even get booked.
Referee knocked back a decent looking Watford penalty shout.offering little protection to some heavy handed challenges as Watford were starting to get on top. Section of Millwall crowd booing Watford player subbed from terrible Millwall challenge that the Millwall did not even receive a booking.
Referee also got in the way of a Watford attack that led to a Millwall counter attack. Definitely not helping Watford.
and listening to what the BBC (ian wright in particular) have had to say about them this image springs to mind...
how anyone who knows what a lot of their fans are like can ever suggest they are a nice friendly and family community club now. when in fact they are the first to revel in the misfortune of others.
Watford pushing up. Organised Millwall defence working hard to deny any decent chances. Watford could do with another player up front. Troy Deeney on. Deeney giving some treatment back. Referee gives a booking for rough Watford challenge. This is a game that player could be seriously injured. Millwall pressing. Oh feck Millwall score. Millwall talisman Morrison scores. Spineless referee helped edge this one for Millwall. Helped by Watford putting the second team out. FFS
Some competitive games in the cup with premiership & championship teams putting out second teams, the FA Cup shown to be of less importance. Apart from the non league teams, not really proper giant killings.
Double standard from FA though with league 1 teams getting fined for not putting out strong teams in the Johnsons Checkatrade under 21 trophy cup thing.

Anyway it's not all bad news they are winning. Cup run means more league games cancelled and a fixture pile up for them.

Bloody Welling are a right bogey team for us though.
The plasterers will be busy filling all the cracks the spanners will be coming out of.
