And it took them c10 hours to come up with that complete non statement. Russel's crowning achievement "the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground" - talk about being dammed by faint praise - what did he do - break up the card schools and smoking behind the sheds?
People take the piss out of things like the pictures in the tunnel, the changes in the canteen but at least he was trying to instill some kind of togetherness. The discipline probably refers to things like the fitness plans he introduced which we lacked last season and which undoubtedly contributed to long term injuries to Vetokele, Diarra and Kashi and their recoveries or maybe the players eating together or wearing suits to the ground. These may seem like small things to some but they may have helped contribute to something in the future. Let's see what the next idiot does with the team. I'm getting to be past caring now though....
Agree to a point, but it doesn't get around the fact he had absolutely no tactical nouse.
Half arsed solution to a big problem. Don't believe him going or next middle management jobber coming in will make any difference.
It won't. Under these clowns, the same thing will keep happening. This is because they are the problem. We are now far enough in to the RD experience to see it for what it is - rank incompetence. Makes you wonder how this guy ever got to be a millionaire.
The timing of this looks like a cynical decision to try and obtain some positive press coverage in the face of an very large amount of negative coverage delivered after the CARD and Belgium20 with 2percent coverage of the last few days.
I can't see that it will work.
Duchatelet should sell and take his decision makers with him.
The statement is a bit of a hostage to fortune in my view. You have to put someone in charge of the team, which presumably is Kevin Nugent - assuming he hasn't been sacked.
To announce you'll say nothing else until a new manager is appointed MUST mean a new manager is already lined up and will be appointed imminently, because failing that you'd have to make another statement within four days about who is taking charge of the team on Saturday.
Any listed company which treated announcements of changes in its key employees in such a slapdash manner would be facing fines and a severe reprimand from the Stock Exchange - given the degree of public interest I fail to see why professional football clubs should have lower standards, particularly when they have a qualified lawyer as their Chief Executive. Yet again Katrien demonstrates that she doesn't even have skills in areas that her training should have qualified her for - exactly the same can be said about some of the players' contracts she has negotiated.
Even if Slades job is harder then usual for a manager, under these specific circumstances laid in front of him, at the end of the day, if the team is underachieving it's usually always the manager that gets moaned at by the fans, the eventual blame. Then sacked. He shouldn't be surprised. It's a pressurising job!
Its what football is.
This sacking is probably a knee jerk reaction by Roland due to getting taken the piss out of at lunch. Probably forced Roland to maybe see what's going on and actually check the league table.
Or maybe this decision was already made before the Swindon game, hence the dire performance.
Slade tried. Wasn't good enough.
There won't ever be a manager that's good enough though.
Because the owner and SMT f*ck everything up themselves.
It will be the revolving door that eventually spirals out of control.
The door has already spiralled out of control................a long time ago.
The door went a bit funny when some crouching man tried coming through it.
The final nail in Slades coffin was the Swindon game for which he was without his best player (Holmes) through his own ineptitude in picking him for the Scunthorpe cup game when he had Lookman and Botaka as alternatives
He also had the opportunity to take a look at RCC, Aribo and others but perserved with his busted flush of a midfield. Perhaps the new incumbent will fast-track Ba and Tex to the side. Can loanees be recalled January or are all for season?

Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP 6s6 seconds ago Away to Bristol Rovers, Bradford and Millwall. Something for the new boss to get his teeth into.....
O'Loughlin will relish this.
He'll probably lose all six and we'll be on our third manager by Christmas.

That statement doesn't read like the comms team put it together.
Its more likely been cobbled together by Latrine and Ballbag, neither of whom would have the foresight to consider any of the points you raise.
They've probably read this now and are thinking "shit, he's got a point"
99% rose tinted glasses again. This is another example of getting annoyed with CAFC fans. They hated the football served up. They hated the formations. They hated the subs. They hated negative tactics. They hated everything about the football. Then Slade gets sacked and it's a shame, he was a safe pair of hands, he deserved time. Utter BS. We want to learn - then we should do the same!!!! Slade was wrong. Why wait??? He was right to go. Why wait for relegation and then sack him???
Charlton Athletic has today parted company with manager Russell Slade Charlton Athletic has today parted company with manager Russell Slade.
The club has reluctantly made this decision after results this season, which have left the team occupying 15th place. The club wants to give itself the best possible opportunity of achieving its number one priority – winning promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the earliest opportunity.
The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground, and wishes him well for the future.
The club will make no further comment until a new manager has been appointed.
Well that shouldn't take long ...... 9am tomorrow after pinocchio has been hard at work all night long interviewing top top candidates before deciding Chris is the outstanding man for the job

I had no problem with the football being served up.
Just a thought, if he was sacked after training this morning how come it took so long for the news to get out ?
It took them 6 hours to get him out the door.
The revolving doors were revolving too fast to escape

After seeing the best performance under Russell Slade in the FA Cup against Scunthorpe, that was followed by the worst performance against Swindon. The difference, Maginess and Lookman on international duty, Holmes injured. We have all complained about the lack of intensity and pace in midfield, Jackson and Crofts can't play in the same team. However, Slade has made changes behind the scenes that was slowly improving the football club. To sack him now is totally criminal, not to give him the Jan transfer window to sort out the pedestrian midfield is a total cop out. As many of you know I was prepared to give the ownership time, but that has now run out, this is a poor, knee jerk reaction, which has no logic to it whatsoever. Even I have now had enough, for me this was the last straw. I now want them out of the club. Having said that I wil still go to as many games as I can, and continue to pay into Valley Gold. I sound really messed up, and thats how I feel, gutted. Have lots more to say, but can't face it.

Doubt he's gonna want to stick arround if his pal has been treated badly!
The fact I never went to watch it helped.
