Hang on, playing devils advocate. What if Brussels isn't gone and this is a or stunt at giving card an own goal! If so I am hiring pitch.

Not just card reporting it though ,BBC and Talksport have confirmed it via 'their sources'
Fair, I just fear some sick game by this lot.
Not wrong to be suspicious, but Rich Cawley at SLP reporting it as well.

What an awfully written statement. I hate to think what it looked like before three hours of rewrites.

Charlton Athletic has today parted company with manager Russell Slade
Charlton Athletic has today parted company with manager Russell Slade.

The club has reluctantly made this decision after results this season, which have left the team occupying 15th place. The club wants to give itself the best possible opportunity of achieving its number one priority – winning promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the earliest opportunity.

The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground, and wishes him well for the future.

The club will make no further comment until a new manager has been appointed.

  • So who is in charge on Saturday then?
  • We must have pies and bottles of lucozade in the kiosks that last longer than our managers. Fucking shambles. Football league should hang its head in shame allowing diabolical ownership and management to run clubs into the ground like this.

I would not put Meire in charge of counting the footballs in the store room as she would probably burst them all just b by looking at them such is her Midas touch of clusterfuckness. As for the money man....he hasnt got a clue what day it is judging by the video of the restaurant let alone how to take our club forward the scruffy mess. If he dresses himself each morning I would be suprised. Divs.

Looking at the time on the statement seems our Roly owns a time machine.

  • So with no official statement, what could be going on..

    1. KM told RD she will resign and he won't accept. no statement until that is resolved.

    2. CAFC communications dept refuse to issue another nonsensical statement from RD \ KM.

    3. Players in revolt. On strike

    4. KM can't announce COL as next manager with evidence he has been last home games and her statements on Talksport. No idea how to get them out of their own JCB sized hole.

    5. All of the above and more.

If we appoint a head coach does that mean they'll never comment again?

What a weird statement, basically admitting the club was shambolic and undisciplined before Slade turned up.

Katrien wrote that herself. Clearly. It's similar to the tone of how she speaks.

The Written English of a 10 year old.

    Predictable, weird.

  • Dreadful club statement, absolutely appalling.
  • Hahahah.....

"The club wants to give itself the best possible opportunity of achieving its number one priority – winning promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the earliest opportunity"

They better get somebody else in to run it then.
Duchatelet is buying the other 23 clubs in the league and assigning Meire to spend a week at each to give Charlton a chance of achieving this.

The lack of professionalism on show really is appalling isn't it.

  • Players in revolt/on strike? I do hope so! That would be the most effective protest of all IMHO.

To be honest, Duchatelet clearly doesn't take much of an interest and his recent failings have been not sacking the incompetents he has in charge and replacing them with people who might have a slight clue about what they are doing. I mean, an idiot could have ballshitted us fans a bit, and not created the totally toxic atmosphere through insults and ridiculous and frightening statements as Meire has done. How he keeps her in her job defies belief! You have to question his sanity.

With it being Roland's 70th today, could it just be that he wants to deal with it tomorrow? For 1.5% we only amount to 21 minutes of his birthday, they used that to sack Slade.

They are probably cutting the cake and drinking champagne. Sue Perks will be at the buffet and KM showing everyone her new tinder matches.

This "we have learned from our mistakes and we want to communicate better with the fans" thingy is doing well
  • It cannot really get worse.
The club is not even a laughing stock.
RD and KM continue to prove they are incapable of running a club.
    Just GO.
