Last season, I was told from someone inside the club that they knew they'd got things wrong and that they would work to put things right. Sadly, for them, Roland doesn't give two figs for anyone but himself.

As I said in July, nothing has changed.

I hope we get the chance to reply!

We all know who the stupid person is.

I think Meire told everyone that Dave.

    No secret.

The interview with RD was on (Flemish ) national television. It's a weekly talk show, covering different subjects, mainly political. Every week a sports related subject is highlighted, usually by interviewing someone well known. Every evening however, there's another talk show called "de afspraak" (rendezvous). Might I suggest someone (in English shouldn't be a problem) writes a little comment, perhaps even asking for an interview or an invite to either talk show ? They have a habit inviting people with opposing views on a certain matter. You might get lucky to explain your view on the decline of CAFC.

I've sent in the form...bit worried that my very rusty Dutch would not stand up to a TV interview, but well...
    That's just stupid.

Addickted - I realise you are probably trying to be funny, but this actually comes across as very rude to WA. Facing TV cameras would be stressful in any case, but to offer to do so in another language shows great commitment and deserves nothing but praise. Thank you WA; I am sure you will do us all proud if you get the opportunity.

Agree go for it but possibly do it in English if they agree

Should be a doddle compared to Glaswegian.

Well one thing has changed since then. The club has realised its mistakes in managerial appointments and chosen to hire the manager who can deliver promotion this season. Russell Slade.
    Yayyyy go Russell.

    Oooops he did go.
  • Love that picture of Dumb and Dumber sitting down protesting.

  • It may impress / have impact on the Belgium audience / media if a Charlton supporter is attempting to speak in the native tongue ( ? )
  • I may have missed it earlier in the thread, but do we know if Jim White at talksport is aware of this too ?
  • @carly burn that wasn't Meire, it was another member of staff that had bought in to them.

I'm all for a show of support for Powell which will stick two fingers up at this ********! Duchatelet - you are lying scum. The EFL has to act - this cannot be acceptable in any circumstance. Are talk sport on this - I'm sure teh ex players will have a field day discussing it - especially if we provide them with some facts to go with it!
  • Love this bit:

"Then Jose Riga came in and with all the other players that the other coach had said were bad players, got 1.5 points per match and saved the club, then it all stopped."

    1. Does 'saved the club' mean 'prevent relegation'? How exactly is that working out you total peen?

    2. He 'saved the club' so you immediately sacked him. Great plan.

    3. What has 'all stopped'? Certainly not our decline. Definitely not the protests. You are completely delusional.

  • We need a right of reply. Everything he has said in that interview can be picked apart with the facts.

So RD wants the fans to sing and dance after a match, perhaps he should tell KM, because when CAFC fans started singing in the car park she hired in extra security and closed the blinds.

Millwall fans getting into the Duchatalet spirit:

  • This is what comes of running a 'business' as part social experiment, part hobby and part-time (1.5% ) and placing unqualified staff in senior positions to let them get on unchecked with the running of the club in the administation (Miere) and scouting (Driesen) areas.

Let's hope that @weggieaddick can get in front of the cameras in Belgium to further expose the inadequacies of this grossly arrogant and self-delusional owner.

I think the worst lawyer in the world could succesfully defend Powell against that lunatic's attacks! He would haveknown full well that Riga didn't play the network players either but tried to insuate that he did. I long for the day when a well informed and researched interviewer gets the chance to talk to the coward. He gave so many opportunities to be picked to pieces, but it is unreasonable for a Belgian reporter to know any detail to challenge him on. Less forgivable that many English ones don't either but that is a different matter!

That's why I said this on page 8...

Then Jose Riga came in and with all the other players that the other coach had said were bad players, got 1.5 points per match and saved the club, then it all stopped.

Then, genius that you are, you got rid of the coach who got 1.5 points per match and replaced him with one who got 1.2 points per match. Did you forget that bit Roland?

Literally everything he says is bollocks.

    It's almost too much.

When he said "then it all stopped"

I think he's suggesting that protests are rather thickle ... And if we got a few wins together, simply no one bothers protesting anymore.
Like it has no solid principle. Ok.

No one was protesting when Powell got sacked though.

It was just a sad time that Powell had left and the club seemed to have rapidly changed around in a very short space of time.
People were right-fully concerned, but mostly still supportive and understanding of a bigger picture.

So Riga put a few more results together and averaged more points then Powell.

    So f*cking what you idiot.

Fraeye and Luzon combined, put us in an even worse position before Riga took over for the 2nd time.... And I'm assuming less points per game then Powell.
Those are managers YOU hired Roland. They also used YOUR players. You, as owner, are overall responsible for club employees.

(Riga finished the job and got us relegated...by getting mostly terrible results with the players at his disposal)

    Riga charlton relegations - 1

    Powell charlton relegations - 0

The contradicting stuff douche bag argues.

He doesn't think before he speaks. His brain has no logical organisation to make a convincing specific point or argument.

Karl Robinson described Roland as "Laidback"

    Huh

May I suggest that a representative of CAST should contact the TV station
    They just did. See above.
It's excellent that Weegie can it in Dutch. Should help counter this 'lost in translation nonsense' for the apologists.
  • This guy's body language is incredible. Rattled as hell and paranoically bonkers. He would make a superb sports minister in Trumptown.
  • RD is an egotistical deluded fool - seems par for the course in the world at present. Everyone else is wrong but him.....

If the Trust do get a right to reply, they should emphasize that they have offered to meet RD from they day he took over, but he has refused.

    And that he's a knob...

Though, in fairness, I'd hazard a guess that most Belgians would aready know that.
