  • I didn't realise we'd recruited Yasir for his batting!

Errrm well........ he's certainly batted far better than he bowled!
  • I was there today.

Our bowlers, other than Stevens, looked innocuous and Durham, with Collingwood at the helm, advanced without too many problems and we only picked up 2 of the 3 available bowling bonus points within the 110 overs. Harsh to say it, given that I know he has been in Australia on compassionate leave, but Claydon looked particularly ineffective.

Once we got them out sod's law prevailed and there was cloud cover to accompany the new ball. The Durham bowlers, Mc Carthy especially, looked far more threatening than Kent's and made full use of the more favourable conditions. In the circumstances Northeast played very well with little support until Shah came in. They managed to steer us to a batting bonus point and we closed needing 87 to avoid the follow on with 2 wickets remaining.

I'll take the draw now because I don't think we'll get it.

  • Sam Northeast gets his ton! 227/8 - keep it going boys
  • All out for 236. Trail by 212, Durham haven't enford the follow on, so Coles is going to bowl 'em out for under 100.
  • Lord Stevo gets Jennings first ball!
  • Durham 41-1 now. Lead 253 and counting.

We will do well to get anything out of this from here.
  • Durham declared at 271-6 setting Kent 484 to win.

At the close Kent were 35 without loss.
  • Nice steady start for a run chase tomorrow.
  • DBD went early doors for 37/1 - Dickson & Denly going along reasonably nicely. 95/1 after the first hour - just a cool 389 needed of the final 80...
  • Denly gone for 45 - 113/2.

  • 117/3 - Dickson out c&b by Keaton Jennings.....
  • is it 96 overs to be bowled today? 58 gone so far so another 38 overs to survive. Just as I type Gidman out so 193-6. think Rouse has got bat quite a while with Northeast to save this. The only consolation is that Worc have already lost

Potentially 106 overs I think but they may agree to shake hands earlier.

EDIT: Forget all that! Yes it is 96 overs! I temporarily forgot the 10 we faced last night in coming up with 106!

Kent 224-6 off 76.3 as I type so 29.3 to go worst scenario
  • Durham just taken the new ball and Rouse has gone for 23.

    237-7 off 80.4
  • Need Sam to farm as much of the strike as he can now...
  • At least Glamorgan beat Worcs but this has been terrible against bottom side.
  • According to Durhams twitter page there is 15 overs left as of 2 mins ago
  • 283-8 off 93 overs. 13 left.

    Coles and Yasir batting
  • Close to 96 overs
  • A wicket must be due. They have already put on 32 runs.

  • So is it a draw ?
  • Matt Coles out for 30
  • I think we can still win this.
  • 314/9. 99 overs
  • So is it 106 ovs to survive?
  • Yeah 106 overs to survive. 5 overs left 323/9
  • 103 overs bowled...
  • Another 50 overs and we would win this.
  • 3 overs left. Come on Kent!
