Has CARD surved it's purpose?

For what it's worth I think that RD will eventually sell the club - but I really feel that we would be better served as fans by joining together and supporting the team.United we stand divided we fall!I worry that we have lost some of our loyal core for ever at a time when we should be building bridges.I will always go down the road of dialogue and feel that many on this forum are missing a trick by neglecting that route.Lets show any prospective buyer what a great fan base we have and the potential to make this Famous old club great again.Maybe KR is playing with one hand tied behind his back but IMO he and the team deserve our support.COYR

Prospective buyers know exactly what our fan base is like.
Hundreds, like me, waiting to renew out season tickets the moment this clown and his circus pisses off.
Robinson knew exactly the toxic atmosphere he was joining.70 -
So as I understand it, CARD stands for Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet.
The aim of the many fan groups that comprise CARD, which include those who started spell it out in black and white, CAST (who speak for many fans and many other groups is for Roland to sell.
He has proved time and again that he is not able to run a football club with a focus on football but only a property development with an ill run football club in the middle, but without prioritising the football
Nothing has changed from last year or the year before other than our avoidable relegation.
I cannot see a route to collaboration with this man.
The team is supported.
At Millwall, you could even see what it could be like if the support wanted to come and watch games.
But they don't because of combination of the lack of investment in the team, the toxic management and their treatment of the fan base (too many examples to list).
Only a change in ownership will address this. The fan base should be united and it should be united against Duchatelet.

Let us know what changes.
Prospective buyers are hanging on the outcome.

@raytreacy69
You're in the minority, stop arguing for possibly the worst ownership this club has ever had. Beligerent beyond belief.8 -
So what's your alternative and I don't feel I am in the minority?16

You are definitely in the 2%.
Suck it up and let's see what happens.3 -

I agree with the words above. But as to the present predicament: We need a change of helmsman. If this is realised, and the terrain around and about looks promising, then THAT would be the time for us to reunite. Until then, No.
The damage is done and the current owner and his team can watch what remains of Charlton Athletic's active support base reduce further.
Let's hope that the opportunity to realise the words above occurs soon.3 -

Give it a rest yeah Ray.8

@ray traecy I am sure that you are a genuine fella but just how many threads are you going to start on the same theme?
Give it up, you ain't gonna convince people. Only Roland and katrien pissing off will do the trick.21 -
I'd love to start going to matches again, but I can't bring myself to buy a season ticket where the money ultimately goes to Roland. Theres plenty like me, compare season ticket sales this season compared to the last time we were in League 1. The football wasn't always great then but we did have an owner & CEO who were openly dismissive and rude about the fans. Or had no apparent interest in anything other than creating a football factory.3
-
This guy loves making threads
And no, they've served their purpose when that lot have gone.7 -
Short answer: No
There is still plenty more to do. The player farm is continuing and Katy is still running the club in to the ground2 -
You do love flogging a dead horse Ray. Same old trolling nonsense rehashed every couple of weeks and always a new thread.
Will you revert to slagging off fans as you've done in all of your previous threads on the same topic?
We all support the team, that why we want the owner and CEO, who care nothing about results or our history, gone.
Keep up the good work CARD and the Belgium 20, we are winning.25 -

"We demand that the current owner of Charlton Athletic, Roland Duchatelet, takes every step to find a successor (or successors) who understands how to run a football club, is willing to invest sensibly in the team and appreciates the critical role of fans in building success. We want Roland out – before it’s too late."
- This is CARD's stated purpose, Roland is still here so they clearly have not fulfilled it.9 -

Sorry Ray but what's changed? He's just recouped another £8m and under-invested in the squad, thereby leaving us weaker than before. We are a mid-table third division side with no ambition but a plan to make money for the billionaire owner selling young players. It's all about cutting his mismanagement losses and ensuring his Niece doesn't get too damaged in the process. Anyone who thinks he's moved on is a member of the Flat Earth Society like the six or seven cringeworthy brown-nosers on the tiny message board lead by the bloke who changes his mind every six months with absolute conviction.30

Ray, if you stood with CARD we'd all be united. You're the one that's pulling in the opposite direction to the majority of supporters. You're helping to cause division. Wake up, you know it makes sense!35

Fast forward to next Wednesday morning and then reflect on whether the purpose has been served.3
-
Errrr Ray. I think you should consider changing your name. As Ray Treacy was a legend for Charlton to maybe something more European, to fit in with your thoughts about our once well supported ambitious club. Maybe Roland is after some money from the EU as he is a into farming. Maybe you can represent him in Strasbourg0
-
You have to admit though, Katrien and Co. don't need a lot of help from anyone else to make themselves look the fools of English football.1
-
Will happily be proven wrong in the next week but this transfer window has shown nothing has changed and why protests must continue.
With the money brought in there shouldn't be any excuses, while we can't replace Lookman's quality the squad should be stronger than it is. We know the real reason is RD doesn't want squads to be too big so young players get their chance.
As I said in another thread I don't know why anyone expects anything different. It's happened so many times before.8
