I just prefer watching Robinson's Charlton than Slades.
Slade for me was poor and his football was painful and dull.
Just preferred listening to Slade and I thought his gruff demeanor while working with the nutters was more dignified than Mr Gobby's over excited sucking up.
I think it is the results to come. Slade wasn't going to change anything but I am expecting Robinson to get the team winning more often. Of course he needs to deliver. At the moment his record is comparable and Slade's record wasn't good enough. A few wins and that will change of course.
Bar Fraeye Robinson is currently contesting the lowest win ratio of any of our managers! 23.08% v Slade's overall ratio of 23.81% (Fraeye - 14.2%). Even Luzon and Peters did better in a higher league!
Evidence, if ever any were needed, that even with a different manager and different players, under RD and KM, the outcome will always be the same.
Putting aside the anti-regime stuff, there is clearly a potential constant influencing what happens on the pitch such as whether it be one or more players, something that happens (or doesn't happen) on the training pitch. Who or what's not changed RS to KR that's meant that scoring goals and winning games isn't happening as frequently as they should do ?

How can you put aside the anti-regime stuff when THEY are the constant which is influencing what happens on the pitch? Our team is not good enough. We haven't invested enough or invested correctly in the squad. Another transfer window has come and gone and once again we've ended up with a squad that is lacking. You can believe Robinson's talk that he was allowed to sign more players but didn't, or you can look at the evidence and draw the conclusion that the regime have never invested in the squad properly and therefore they are culpable for the failings in this latest window.
I'm not sure that Robinson would prefer the two lads from Arsenal and Chelsea and possibly even Page over a couple of more experienced players. JFC and Byrne are likely Robinson signings, but I'm not convinced about the others. Until a manager is allowed to build a full squad of players that HE wants, we will continue to fail.
We have a squad of players that look more than capable. They are the ones not delivering on the pitch, not Roland, not Katrien. Time for them to step up. There's no excuse, they are more than good enough.

But it is the flawed system that Roland and Meire have created that is the problem. They are the constant in 3 years of abject failure. Not the players not the coaches (other than Fraeye). They do not know how to run a successful club and will not listen to people that do, anyone who dissents too loudly is dismissed.

How do they look more than capable? They've only conjured up 3 wins in 13 for Robinson and only 9 wins out of 30 for the entire season. Are you sure it's Charlton you've been watching? After 30 games, it's fair to say, if you're not doing it, you're probably not good enough.
Slade had 20 years of data behind him. His very mediocre performance in his short stint as Charlton manager was perfectly in line with his stats. Stats over a 20 year period are meaningful. To keep him on would have been an act of hope that he would suddenly discover something/some new approach that would result in an improvement in his results. The 20 years of statistical evidence suggest this would have been futile.
Robinson on the other hand is still an unknown quantity. In his short time as a manager he has achieved more success than Slade. I would be happy to see him given a full pre-season and the first half of next season.

If the players look more than capable to you, then you are in a massive minority here.
Please explain to the rest of us, specifically what the players need to be doing differently ?

Agreed. We have a squad of players that 'should' be more than capable, but they certainly aren't looking it. Rudd, Solly, Bauer, Tex, Konsa, JFC, Crofts, Holmes, Watt, Magennis, plus Lookman for 4 months. That lot at this level should be doing considerably better than they are.
I think I sort of get what he means, in that individually some of our players should be top percentile In this league.
Rudd, better than league 1 Solly, enough said Bauer, Pearce Johnson & Tex, should be OK at a higher level so should be top Centre Halfs in this league Crofts highly experienced, again at a higher level Novak & Ajose were top scorers Magennis fitted into this league well Ulvestad, from a premier league club Holmes, tricky league 1 player
Etc Etc
So on paper we have top percentile players in most positions, the problem is 1. strength in depth and 2. the sum of the individual parts seem to make less than individually.
Without harping back to the good old days, curbishley was very good at getting the total to be greater than the individual parts, but he built teams and squads, for the last 3 years it's been an ever changing list of players thrown together to run around on the green stuff on a Saturday.
Throw in the constant use of young players often not fully ready or need easing in slowly and it's never going to work.
I think we also miss leaders massively and that's underated, outside of possibly Pearce there doesn't seem to be a lot of talking. A Tony Adams/John Terry Type soon lets their midfield know if they aren't tracking back enough, a Schmichael soon lets his defence know when they aren't performing and a Vierra/Roy Keane in the middle lets everyone know!
Appreciate I've picked out top players there, but the principal is the same at any level. When I played to a reasonable standard when I was younger, we weren't the most skilful team in the league but we won it most years, we had two or 3 real leaders who drove everyone on, every minute of every game. Playing left back or left midfield the captain in centre midfield and both centre halves would tear me off a strip if my work rate and tracking back wasn't 100%, needless to say you made damn sure you did. It's respect for the team and respect for each other, all for one and one for all and all that. To me there's little team spirit.
We are sorely lacking that. Look back through the years we always had leaders, whether that was a Kinsella, Simon Webster, Steve Brown, Dean Kiely, Hreidasen, Morrison, Andy Peake even players like John Robinson took that responsibility through games, you don't have to be captain.
These days unless Jacko is on or maybe Pearce you just don't see that anymore, get a few of them to grow a few and things might change, but to do so probably needs changes behind the scenes as it isn't solved in the 90 minutes.
We so over rate the majority of our players. The results and performances do not lie. The comparison that I like to draw is player for player against the League one title winning side of 2012 and you should see quite quickly how inadequate this squad of players really are.

Sticking the ball in the back of the net as simple as it may sound Magennis was clean through on goal last night unpressured and didn't even get it on target!
Same applies to Novak smashing it into the side netting against Wimbledon on Saturday not even on target.
Both are more than capable League One players and should be doing better. Once clean through on goal there is nothing more KR or the regime can do at that point.

I would agree with this. It might be worth noting however that division was VERY strong that season, so we might get away with a lesser calibre of player, but in the end, we are sitting mid-table with the players we have and successive managers haven't managed to coax consistent performances out of them.

If you're clean through on goal and can't hit the target and similar with Novak, then I'd respectfully suggest they are not more than capable goalscorers. Neither of them have ever been true goalscorers. Novak got a reasonable amount of goals when he was younger, but his game was based on running and hassling & for whatever reason, he's been the total opposite at Charlton.
