What a depressing afternoon. Bauer weak in the air for the first one, while he second was another of those gifts we have become good at recently. The last 25 minutes were then awful...
Really toxic atmosphere at the end...
Absolutely Bauer weak in the air for the first one.
As for the 'fans' behind the goal who then proceeded to give Rudd dogs abuse after it went in - p*** off!! I know you all lack any modicum of intelligence but you should be 'ashamed' (look it up) of yourselves for treating Rudd like that!! He had no bloody chance of getting what was a great header.
The intellectually challenged really were out in force today! What is it about an away game that attracts them?? Spotty teenage kids in their mock designer crap, backed up by 50 year old plus has beens clinging on to some sort of relic of their self imposed rebellious past.
Yes, have a chant against this stroker of an owner and his dolly bird but have a look at yourselves when you're let out to play. You really are an embarrassment.
Other (local) clubs are available to them after all.
Robinson really hasn't got a clue. If he waffles on so incoherently to the players it is no wonder that they are not functioning. If anyone in business saw one of their managers talking in public like that after something had gone they would know what to do. And they would do it quickly.
On the Players Marks thread I see Botaka got a couple of MoMs. It sounded like he was quite involved. For a loan player I think he at least makes an effort.

He's full of little nut megs or flicks and agree he does try, but his balls into the box are fairly woeful.
It was just a shambles, look at their first goal, Konsa was constantly out of position, he was over by the side line trying to stop the cross coming in (did he think he was back in central midfield?) which left Byrne against their 6ft 4 centre forward, Bauer just did a spin on the spot, saw the cross and just looked around to see where it went. Why Konsa was over there and not page I don't know.
Totally disorganised, i've said it 100 times, we lack organisation and we lack any sort of leader on the pitch. After their 1st Rudd is shouting at his defence, they didn't care and just all walked away, no one talking. Theres no respect for the shirt and no respect for each other.
The players just don't seem to know what they are supposed to be doing so are like rabbits in the headlights the whole time. That is Robinsons fault, for all his faults and negativity at least defensively we were reasonably organised under Slade.
We don't find space going forward, we don't make any splitting passes, i've honestly seen better non league play than ours. We are going to need some luck to not simply slide into the bottom 4.
Why was Tony Watt sending out childish tweets at 1pm today.
Interestingly, both tweets showing two players on their phones... the two players who have rumoured to have been using their phones to show off potential clubs before the previous match.
Can't help but wonder if Tony is trying to make a point with those tweets... and if he was, fair play to him. Any sign of disharmony or friction in the dressing room and everyone immediately looks towards him, we all did it after Karl's comments last week and it actually sounds like it had nothing to do with him.
I've missed a lot in recent week between being busy with work and watching my country fall apart, can you elaborate a little more on this LR (feel free to link me to any threads I've missed)? Are Tex and Bauer said to be thinking themselves too big for the club? Honestly, on their day I think both of them are, but it'd be a little strange given Robinson's comment on Tuesday that "some players get to Charlton and think they've made it."
Also, unto itself, I don't see much wrong with being on your phone around 1pm before a match. I imagine there's a lot of down time as a footballer, especially on a match day, and the players need to pass the time.
I've sent a tweet to Tony Watt tonight asking him what on earth has gone wrong at CAFC. A pointless tweet, no doubt but it had to be said.
In reality, the fans wanted an English manager and domestic players and almost all of the Network flyers are now away.
The message must be, be careful what you wish for because this is a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Yes, we probably need a new owner but cast your minds back to last year's squad and you might see that it really was quite decent.
As for Morgan Fox, I congratulate him on his goal today and applaud him for finding a Club that gets behind him. I was never a great fan but when he had cover and good support and is not left hanging out to dry he has clearly shown that he can do the business - I accept that I was wrong on that one.
We desperately need Pearce back, as we are SO vulnerable at the back. I'm not saying he's a miracle worker, but he's a steady experienced player, who can organise the defence and prevent some of the defensive cockups that have been happening
I remain baffled as to what is happening with this team. On the surface we should have players more than good enough at this level. Rudd: Probably best in the league Byrne: Has played a lot at this level, and played quite well Bauer: Should be too good for this league Konsa: We have to remember he's still only 18 and will make mistakes, but a good player Page: It's not going well for him Holmes: Quality Crofts: A good player but as we've seen all year, can't play in a midfield two Ulvestad: Out for two months then starts on his first game back. Also struggles in midfield two. Botaka: Not gone quite right for him Novak: Scored 15 for Chesterfield last year Magennis: What's happened?
Add to that Tex and JFC who should both be FAR too good for this level. Tex looked a quality Championship defender last year. I know it's been a bit stop-start for JFC and he's out now but he has more than enough talent. Chicksen has looked a solid player. Mavididi looked raw but classy. Aribo young but certainly bright. Watt looked very good as a lone forward working hard when he came back.
In short, we have decent players. I would say we have some very good players, though I know that's contentious. We have what everyone cried out for--players with experience at this level, and a British manager. We arguably don't have enough depth, and to be fair we've had AWFUL luck with injuries. But even with that and all the niggles, we should not be winless in eight. That's absolutely absurd. And the notion that we sound disjointed and lacking any sort of tactical understanding or plan is...shocking. I don't think Robinson is fully to blame, but his response to "What can you do to change this?" "Nothing" on Tuesday night is telling, and I believe true.
Sacking a manager is only 50%, the other half is hiring a replacement and I genuinely have no idea who we would get in. I also think that under different circumstances, and despite being born in Liverpool, Robinson might have been an alright manager for us. But things seem to be so bad, and showing no signs of improving, that a change just must be made.
As an aside, something I've long wondered given the number of late goals we've conceded is if the players are fit enough. This was definitely a problem last year, and apparently something Riga started with by having two-a-day training sessions when he came in. And it seems to be that we're pretty awful in the last 15-20 minutes of games. I don't know who our fitness coach is, or anything about them, but it makes me wonder...

Agree with most that has been said.
Sadly it's the club that is rotten from the top, useless rudderless SMT, who frankly couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Filled with incompetent yes men/women.
An owner who has stated that he is not interested in winning just flogging off the youth.
A CEO who gets rid of good players and replaces with either injured or useless players on ridiculously long contracts or loan players who mainly couldn't give a shit.
Add to that things are now so bad that only piss poor managers/ coaches will take the job under these clowns and you have the answer.
There is only one thing that has to change for us to get out of this and that is the ownership pure and simply as the song goes, they ain't got a clue.

Of course. After last weeks performance Karl had a bit of a trainwreck of an interview, where he came out and said "I saw something before the match that... well, I've never seen before.". There was a jokey thread about it, where it came out from multiple people that it involved a player using his mobile phone before the match.
The (pretty credible looking, from different individuals) rumour is that Tex was using his phone to show other players which clubs have approached him about making a move. It was mentioned that Bauer may have done similar, albeit not before the match.
With that in mind, I found it a bit comedic that ol' Tony was tweeting photos before the game... of both Tex and Bauer... using their phones. It's probably a coincidence, but out of all the players he could've picked, and all the things they could've been doing..!
The rest of my post was saying that if he did that on purpose, then fair play to him - after all, at the slightest murmur of friction behind the scenes we all seem a bit quick to point the finger at Tony without any facts or reasoning!
As above. Any organization where the top decision maker says results are not that important, whether he means it or not, sets the tone for everyone. "If he doesn't care, why should we" becomes pervasive.
You can't convince everyone below you to give 100% if you don't care.
Rotten from the top down and it won't change until Roland goes. Anyone who believes otherwise is simply delusional.
He could give Robinson all the Lookman money, and it would still fail.

Well maybe they're better than bottom of Div 1 material, but that ISN'T Charlton's 'natural level'. Both players have looked ok in the Championship, which is closer to Charlton's natural level. They should be fighting to get us back there.
I will begin my summary by praising Northampton. I thought they were very organised and efficient team who knew there responsibilities and played well as team.
Charlton looked awful again. Another game were we have given the first goal away. There is no team mentality. 11 very average individuals who are on larger wages than they deserve.
Biggest complains were the lack of desire to even get a 2nd goal and KR not having the bottle to face the fans.
Relegation is a very real possibility. Season over for me
Someone texted me that Jackson, Holmes and some other players decided to not come back on the team busy but came back by train instead .. anyone know anything about this?

I thought things were bad under Slade, but this is worse, much worse. I never thought we had a decent chance of promotion this season, but I never imagined we would be in a relegation battle either, but that's where we are now. If we don't win at least 1 of the 3 upcoming home games then KR has to go, if only to give us some sort of chance of escaping the drop. To say that the club is in a complete mess and a laughing stock is an understatement.

The most amazing aspect is that there is anyone left who believes or argues otherwise.
The way Duchatelet is taking us, we will be on a ground share with Welling and Millwall will be renting The Valley after losing The New Den to redevelpoment.
I still don't think we'll be relegated, but my confidence is waining
3 points from a possible 24. Relegation form.
Quite, but 42 from 35 isn't. We'll be relegated (or not) based on our form over a season, not three matches.
Indeed, but we have a different manager now so whatever came before is irrelevant to a certain degree. Robinson has managed 3 wins from 18 games and it's not looking like that's about to change, judging by recent performances. Unless he finds some kind of winning formula pretty quickly, we are in deep trouble.

Now 24th from last 6 games, 23rd from last 10 - but, interestinly, Scunthorpe are down there with us so, maybe, as @se9addick points out, it's over the entire season.. nonetheless, it's looking grim and Tuesday is a big test for both teams with Scunny needing the points to get back to an automatic promotion spot
Was in the same train carriage home as Johnnie Jackson, Ricky Holmes and Lee Novak who were on their way to the boxing.
The bloke in the purple who was singing his heart out during the game came in a couple of times to give his opinion on the ownership to the players. They barely even looked at him for the whole few minutes he was ranting.

We were so poor in the second half and I genuinely don't know where the next win is going to come from
Not surprised. There's no fight in this team whatsoever. Easier to watch somebody else fight.
We probably have enough points to be able to stumble across the line.
I was asked the question at work if I though we would go down - I'm ashamed to admit that my answer was "I actually don't really care"
What I do know is, if relegation meant new owners, then I'd take it immediately.
