Which, IF Roland is behind this info to JW (a BIG IF), would provide him with hard evidence, if he is busy telling a prospective buyer that Charlton has great capability for growth! There are more reasons than a one-off increase in ticket income why it might be of benefit to Roland to spread rumours, other than a desire to get his own back on fans who have embarrassed him in his home town.

We don’t have many journos out there who have shown much interest and he ‘has’ gone out of his way to see this saga through to the end. I do have some sympathy with Jim White. You're right, not many people give a monkey's about Charlton and he has made an effort to get some much needed answers for us. When it was said on here (I forget who by) that White found his interview with Roland 'exhausting' I think he's got an inkling of the sort of person he's dealing with but I still don't think he's fully grasped the staggering extent of M. Duchatalet's ignorance and obtuse delusions of what actually goes on with Charlton. He's gone ahead with the takeover news like he would with any other club having received the info he did without factoring in just how difficult, capricious, tight-fisted and deluded our owner is. Roland is well capable of f@cking this takeover all the way back to square one again.
More convinced than ever this 'new interest' was a smoke screen to try and speed up the aussie bid.
Really hope I'm wrong, but it feels like RD has once again played a few people like a fiddle, I really do think he's vindictive enough to play games to embarrass a particular person he blames for the protests.

As a professional journalist who opines that he understands our plight and who knows what we have gone through, he should have known better than to make such a statement on Friday. A statement that was even reiterated by Stelling on Saturday.

Well for what it's worth I have thought right from day one that the stumbling block with this sale is the price. If Roland had the club up for sale at a reasonable price it would have been sold months ago. As it is he is holding out for more than it's worth and that basically is that.

Hate to tell you this Redmist but more likely to lose listeners by talking about Charlton on a national radio station than gain any. We are a medium size London club, or were, now we are a small London club since " The Duchatelet tenure"
Chelsea and Spurs were our local derbies, then Palace and Millwall, now Gillingham and Wimbledon. If we don't get new owners soon it will be Bromley and Welling !
