I don't think he's holding off on this deal that could see him net tens of millions of pounds just to spite the fan base. I think that's ridiculous. I think it's far more likely he wants more money, the group involved need time to properly show proof of funds, the EFL paperwork needs to be done. The idea of spiting us, or that the Fans Forum somehow comes in to his consideration, is ludicrous to me.
The price element I'm sure is more or less agreed, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to claim the deal was remotely close in the first place?

I for one am happy with JW passing on his information. I appreciate anything being put out there (as I was with Jimmy seeds stuff on here). As long as someone is passing on info with the beat of intentions it's not their fault if it changes or doesn't happen. That's the point of a rumour it's by definition not a certainty.

Not every tabloid has direct access to Roland though. I'd have hoped given the last 5 years of frustration and anger (and to his credit he would know about that better than most journalists) he would have been more thorough and fact checked before putting information out there. I doubt very much the price is agreed or finalised, otherwise the deal would be done.

But all the evidence points to there being real activity, real buyers and real negotiations.
Some people seem to see it as "if the deal hasn't happened, then the whole story is fake".
The reality is, IMHO, that the story is true, there is serious interest but a deal hasn't been finalised.
People read "It COULD be as soon as 72 hours as "It WILL happen in 72 hours" and then feel cheated when that made up "deadline" passes.

Imo the deal is not completed until RD fully agrees to all aspects of an offer on the table and an interested party signs and delivers on this.
RDs driver will be to minimalise his financial loss or provide some form of commercial interest protection, future dividend to offset the financial loss. None of that will be driven by spite but 100% driven by his desire to not fail in his own mind.
Can only speak for myself but I’m not very happy at the amount of stick JW is getting on here. We don’t have many journos out there who have shown much interest and he ‘has’ gone out of his way to see this saga through to the end. I believe he is genuinely a ‘friend’ of the club and that he sees clearly that we have been so very badly treated over the last 5 horrendous years. I do think he was a little premature with his time scale but he is on our side and I am sure only means us well.....so can I ask you all to chill a bit, no need to make an unnecessary enemy of the guy, after all, he’s just about all we’ve got in the way of a friend on our side with any reasonable info......be it good, bad or indifferent.
