@JamesSeed - any update from your Aussie buddies (apart from the Ashes)?
Had a splurge of messages a couple of weeks ago and a hint that we might meet up, but nothing since. I haven't bothered asking any questions if I'm honest. GM asked a few though, so I sense they're still interested, but perhaps the price is too high to make it viable.
    Thanks.
I still have a funny feeling that extra debt (not just Roland's loans to the club) was discovered on the books, so Roland now expects a buyer to pay:

    £33m ‘asking price’.
    £7m directors’ loans
    £Xm historic debt.
@Airman Brown - have you heard about newly identified debt?
It’s been talked about quite a bit on here, but not sure anyone’s nailed it down 100%. Someone I know whose contact has ‘seen the books’ is talking of £100+m total, but I’m wondering if that includes Roland’s own debt/Staprix debt. It’s far from a clear picture.

Told you @NapaAddick didn't have the foggiest. £77m my arse.

If there was £xm historic debt left by the spivs we really could be in the brown stuff because noone will think that they should have to pay it, including Roland.

I still have a nagging feeling its more to do with what Roland actually owns.  Who sold him the club and was it theirs to sell.  We haven't heard any real detail about any of it other than price is/isn't an issue or it has/hasn't changed.

Anyway tomorrow could be a done deal, melt down Monday or just another day.

No. How would that work? The accounts are the accounts.

Saw Bob Whitehand at the cricket earlier. Not involved in negotiations. 🤔

  • There is no takeover until the snotgobling Shitweasel asks for a reasonable price.
Until then we are stuck with the prick
All the whilst we are in the play-off mix he'll be looking to stay.

100%, he aint going nowhere all the while we are near the top. He can smell the promise land.

Good. Sign up Cullen, Taylor and the other loan players while he is still awake!

By the way, who's this Steve Sunderland you were talking about in ABs column?
  • Can't wit 'til we get to page 2020 onwards - no doubt we'll have some very interesting predictions as to what the future holds for us all as opposed to what happened in the past!

The takeover will be confirmed on page 2019 and the thread closed down, so no that won’t be happening.

The one who used to work with Arnie Watkins.

IIRC both names were originally misprints in Steve’s News Shopper column in the 1980s, rather than a random invention.

  • Out of interest, has any further meetings been arranged with De Truck and supporters in the near future?

Knowing our luck Roland will still be breathing mechanically somehow & still own CAFC...
  • 1992 - lost my v plates to a beauty who worked in the Broadway at Bexleyheath - great year!
  • We're being bought by the Mysterons and LDT is Captain Scarlet

The same LDT who was AWOL for 4 months after the play off final, reappears showing people round, then actually attends a match?

Either something has changed behind the scenes and it's the new CEO and CFO or maybe, just maybe someone who didn't go to school with nor is a friend of a regular poster on here, is actually intrested in buying the club.
  • Perhaps they were entertained in the Vista Restaurant, which is why so many Vista customers were upgraded to the Peacock Suite on Saturday!?
  • It’s happening!
  • Sat further up the west lower than usual on Saturday and there was a group of about 4 or 5 a few rows in front of me that didn’t really fit in. Could have very easily been a group of tourists but they disappeared at half time and didn’t come back till a little after the second half kicked off. Anton Ferdinand also wasn’t far away so if all cab drivers could be on alert that’d be handy.
