Agree. I really hope we keep him. What’s the point in churning again when we’ve got continuity and passion from someone who clearly enjoys working for CAFC and who the players want to play for (as shown tonight). All he needs is a few quid to strengthen a promising squad and imo we’d go up this season. Feels a bit like when Powell took us up to the Championship and was promised money that could/probably would have seen us ride the wave to the play offs. Instead he eventually got the flick and it all unravelled. I hope the new owners value and understand continuity for clubs like Charlton.
But who could that new manager be? I’m not aware of a plethora of likely candidates. They would also have to come in at the start of a transfer window and be expected to manage (presumably) a concerted effort at achieving promotion - unless the plan is to make a serious (financed) bid next season.
Of course the new owners might be known to us and have a known to us manager waiting in the wings - SCP, Curbs?
My view would be to stick with KR for this season at least.

Any chance that the '' problem '', that arose in DD was Katrien and this was resolved and talks continued by her resigning? We are being told she resigned start of Dec, timescales match up?
For me he talks to much when he might not have the information to back up his claims. But and a big but is the fact that he quite clearly cares about the club and the squad he has built, I would give him until the end of the season minimum with an owner that backs him he could be exactly what this club needs. Pretty clear to me from that interview that when the new owners come in he's out the door. Shame really as he's been dealt a difficult hand in the last month or so.

Napa mate......the possibility of fortunes to be made by property developers on the Valley site have long been discussed. There are long standing local government rights stating that the land can only be used for recreational purposes. The only way it could possibly happen in the first instance, is were the club to move........and even then the hoops to jump through would be considerable. I have just skimmed the surface, as I believe there are a whole host of reasons that would make the entire venture a very very complicated and drawn out process........possibly taking years of debate, applications and counter objections! This subject crops up every so often and has been discussed at great length many times on CL. Others who can either point you in the direction of previous discussions or add info to my post may wish to do so for your benefit.
Yep, which was what I said yesterday. I think this is done. And if the £20M is true, and you add on the £57.5M of debt the new owners will have to take on or pay back, that would bring the enterprise value to £77.5M range I was predicting. (wink wink).

Leave it out Golfie. The guy has somehow stumbled upon the maddest, funniest, most wonderful football club in Europe, and chosen it as his football club. But maybe because he's a bit wacky, the football club chose him.

I know what you mean ibborg....for me it would hinge on whether or not the mega rich guy (who’s name I have forgotten) is going to be a major player. I have never been quite sure if he showed interest initially as a part of the consortium scheme or has since decided he’s more interested in ‘flying solo’. I’ve never been clear on this and for me it’s always clouded the issue......when we talk of interest from Australia exactly who are we talking about.....a consortium with the now available major funding via Mr Megabucks.......or Mr Megabucks on his own?
