The word consortium will no doubt scare a few people.3 -

But who could that new manager be? I’m not aware of a plethora of likely candidates. They would also have to come in at the start of a transfer window and be expected to manage (presumably) a concerted effort at achieving promotion - unless the plan is to make a serious (financed) bid next season.shirty5 said:New owner, new manager
Of course the new owners might be known to us and have a known to us manager waiting in the wings - SCP, Curbs?
My view would be to stick with KR for this season at least.
But hey, it’s all guess work - although I have a feeling in my water that there will be an announcement tomorrow.

Steve McLaren, & Chris Powell to reform the management team that assured Derby of mid table stability last season?0

Any chance that the '' problem '', that arose in DD was Katrien and this was resolved and talks continued by her resigning? We are being told she resigned start of Dec, timescales match up?2
-
For me he talks to much when he might not have the information to back up his claims. But and a big but is the fact that he quite clearly cares about the club and the squad he has built, I would give him until the end of the season minimum with an owner that backs him he could be exactly what this club needs. P.s get a plan b Karl or I look a bit of a penis.4

I hope to god the takeover is not by an American named John Jay Moores. He tried (and failed) to buy Everton two years ago and last year bailed out of taking over Forest at the last minute.
I have seen him in action for The San Diego Padres. He loves to make real estate deals around stadiums and invests early-on and then stops. Its his MO. Invest to get the locals to pony up tax dollars, then milk the value of the real estate, stop spending and then let it deteriorate. After a decade of milking, sells at a profit and moves on to his next target.
I worry JJM would salivate at the real estate possibilities of The Valley. He wants a club. He has the money. I pray it is not him.1 -
I wouldn’t worry, one of (probably?) hundreds ‘looking’ for a club. Unless it were to come from left field I have a feeling we’d have heard something about Americans.NapaAddick said:I hope to god the takeover is not by an American named John Jay Moores. I think you are likely right. The thought or Moores just flew at me like a thunderbolt and it scared the crap out of me.1

But how does he know that when he doesn’t even know who the new owners will be ?Addickted said:
Can't knock him for that interview, but it speaks volumes.iamdan said:Passion from Karl, hope he stays and is backed.
Pretty clear to me from that interview that when the new owners come in he's out the door. Shame really as he's been dealt a difficult hand in the last month or so.1 -

I'm saying Swiss cottage and Gerrard Street.0

Napa mate......the possibility of fortunes to be made by property developers on the Valley site have long been discussed.
There are long standing local government rights stating that the land can only be used for recreational purposes.
The only way it could possibly happen in the first instance, is were the club to move........and even then the hoops to jump through would be considerable.
I have just skimmed the surface, as I believe there are a whole host of reasons that would make the entire venture a very very complicated and drawn out process........possibly taking years of debate, applications and counter objections!
This subject crops up every so often and has been discussed at great length many times on CL.
Others who can either point you in the direction of previous discussions or add info to my post may wish to do so for your benefit.6 -
She was in tears was she? I've been in tears the last three years for what you've done to my football club Katrien. Good riddance.
Can't help but like Robinson after that interview.14 -

Please someone make him stopNapaAddick said:Yep, which was what I said yesterday. I think this is done. And if the £20M is true, and you add on the £57.5M of debt the new owners will have to take on or pay back, that would bring the enterprise value to £77.5M range I was predicting. (wink wink).

As with a few others, I’ve never really taken to KR until that interview.0

That's what happens when a yank decides to follow a club that he has no affinity with & only chose it because he liked the name & the badge. Probably thought it was owned by Charlton Heston.
Leave it out Golfie.
The guy has somehow stumbled upon the maddest, funniest, most wonderful football club in Europe, and chosen it as his football club.
But maybe because he's a bit wacky, the football club chose him.21 - Sponsored links:

I've got a bad feeling about this Aussie consortium1

Since when did we have a CEO?Leeds_Addick said:Even though it does sound like KR is saying it hasn't yet been done, I still reckon it must be.
Can't see why Meire would go if it hasn't. It might take months to go through DD and then sell and we'd need a CEO in that time.0 -
I know what you mean ibborg....for me it would hinge on whether or not the mega rich guy (who’s name I have forgotten) is going to be a major player.i_b_b_o_r_g said:I've got a bad feeling about this Aussie consortium
I have never been quite sure if he showed interest initially as a part of the consortium scheme or has since decided he’s more interested in ‘flying solo’.
I’ve never been clear on this and for me it’s always clouded the issue......when we talk of interest from Australia exactly who are we talking about.....a consortium with the now available major funding via Mr Megabucks.......or Mr Megabucks on his own?2 -

Just to remind any waverers (there can't be many, more likely none at all), just refer to the Dublin interview and Meire's behaviour at the two televised fan's forums. The Red Robin said:She was in tears was she? They could be real - eapecially if she was told to resign and she knows that in her early 30s her career has already peaked and she will never be in such a ‘powerful’ position again.catfordmorry said:

Despite the mistakes I think she really thinks she is fantastic and probably believes she has been judged harshly by our fans. I imagine that she is very upset about losing this job and I seriously doubt that he was her division to step down.1
