Btw my corporate lawyer friend says he has bought another firm's DD a few times. He did this with the agreement of both parties i.e. the people who commissioned DD but had pulled out, and the lawyers who completed DD. As DD looks at contracts and accounts, and asks questions when there is a lack of clarity, you can see how this would save a lot of time. Buying 3rd party DD doesn't prevent you from asking further questions of course..
