    If in 8 days time we still not sold then we need to worry.

    You can take your choice, really, but a repeated blanket denial usually made off the record is a bit different from three different published statements by directors (Dec 28th, Jan 20th and Feb 7th, all with some details, and two separate briefings for staff) - especially when the latter is supported by other information and the denial never was.
