Love the assumption that May won't be paying Brexit leaving fee
Well, it's true - it will be fully offset by a counter-demand for Denmark to repay the Danegeld. (Have you seen how much those Viking bastards screwed from us? No wonder they can afford free university education.)
"Diane is clearly not well and I understand that it is a condition which has been diagnosed and is long-term," Mr Gardiner told TalkRadio.
Stress related?
If it were something physical rather than mental, I cant believe she would have been put in the position she was.
That doesn't sound like a long-term condition. Who is to say until we know what is wrong with her? Many treatments for physical aliments can have quite the effect on the mind and that is not to mention people not facing up to a diagnosis. It is easy to criticise Abbott but even some of her detractors have pointed out she hasn't seemed quite right recently.
the free uni fees, if for example the degree you want to do is in the other end of the country, how do you fund rail tickets up to it and living expenses, will student loans still be available to fund that.
Well, I think we have to be a bit more understanding of her performance. What's Johnson's excuse?
Oh here we go - now she has been announced as being ill, all of a sudden the TV appearances dont matter and all the attention is back on nasty old Tories?
What's Corbyns excuse for leaving her in the firing line if she wasnt well then?
Christ I'm indulging in tit for tat, and feel a tit for that. We have all probably made up our minds, the next phase will be the post election analysis and fall out.

You can make up your own mind whether it matters or not, I can make up mine. I have slagged her off and feel a bit bad if she is ill espeicailly as it has been confirmed it has been diagnosed. Have never rated her when she is well, but I think a bit of understanding isn't asking too much! What others think is up to them!
Apologies if mentioned already but when's the CL poll happening?
I understand it will be an exit poll so tomorrow from 7.00am - 10.00pm to reflect the polling station hours.
I'm not sure anyone should care but I believe that strictly-speaking publishing the results of such an exit poll is actually illegal (details from 1983 Representation of the People Act below - my emphasis in bold):
F31766A
Prohibition on publication of exit polls. .

With regards to Abbott she reminds me (this sounds horrible, but it is not intended to be nasty) of my Grandma after she had her stroke... She's confused and lost and never sounds confident in what she says. Terrifying.
"Diane is clearly not well and I understand that it is a condition which has been diagnosed and is long-term," Mr Gardiner told TalkRadio.
Purely conjecture, but I wonder whether she has suffered with TIA's? That is how it started for my Grandma, it only got worse the longer tests etc took place which caused her great stress.
1) Shy Tory syndrome rears its head again and May increases her majority, as was always expected. Corbyn is crushed and Labour finally ousts him. Most likely result.
2) Reduced Tory majority or even hung Parliament. Wolves baying for May. Somewhat less likely.
3) Labour is largest party. Very unlikely.
Thursday 22.05 ought to be interesting like it was last time.
if its number 3 then for the next year moan about what the people that have voted him have done to this country and say how thick and stupid they are.
But when the results of the analysis of the educational backgrounds of the people who voted for each party are published by the polling companies it will be hard to make that claim stick. In fact the results will clearly show the opposite.
Unlike the results of the analysis of the Brexit vote which clearly showed the thick and stupid vote overly represented on the Leave side.

That's not a bad call. The last time I saw her on tv you could certainly be excused for thinking that.

I def won't be paying any attention to the polls after the pig's war they've made of 2015 and the referendum
I've always been a bit unsure of quite how they can actually work. Well, a lot unsure, really. I mean, I know they make efforts to iron out inconsistencies but how good are they at that in reality? As an example, I work on the basis that data are valuable. After all, the pollsters make their money out of selling their stuff. On that basis, I always tell survey people I'll only answer their questions if they pay me. It makes for a short conversation. So, are things like this factored in? Do their adjustments account for people unavailable, like being at work, on holiday, having "withheld number" blockers on their phone or whatever? Does anyone know how they strive to overcome any potential bias in their samples? Which, in any event, always seem quite tiny sample sizes to me, maybe 2k but often only around 500 - that's less than one per constituency - how can that work?
What I look at is no polls show anything other than a Conservative lead. It is clear there has been some shortening due to Corbyn doing ok and May being totally inept. My hopes are 1) May has the same or worse majority - this is important as I honestly believe with all my heart she is incompetent and she will then be replaced as they won't want her fighting the next election- I believed it before the election and the election has only confirmed it. We have to have somebody with a bit more sense and diplomacy negotiating Brexit. then 2) Corbyn polls better than Milliband did. I think Corbyn has made a breakthrough and the next election will be Labour's to win - I would like to think our chnace of real positive change won't be passed up! So for me every vote for Corbyn is positive.
Pretty much agree with all that Muttley, I said at the very beginning that I'd love this to backfire on the evil old wench and imo anything other than a big extension of their majority I would be. Back then I didn't think it possible, now I feel there is a slight hope that there will be little movement in the numbers.
I still have worries about Corbyn but he has won me from being a doubter to being a silent supporter.
Well please dont try to make out schools are not facing cuts because they are. Serious ones!
We are facing another 5 years of this crap and I have absolutely no patience for being told we are putting more money into schools and the NHS. You may be able to insult some people's intelligence but please don't try and insult mine.
Is that in response to my last post of saying my wife too works in a school?
Do you accept under the new formula some schools will be better off than worse? Do you think it's fairer or not?
Depending how it is spun then yes more money is going in, of course with inflation etc in real terms it's probably less but depending which report you read it's definitely more or less!!
Do you accept what the IFS say that school funding, in real terms, is 70% more than in 1990?
I take a different view to you, that is rather than just simply increase a budget, look at how's it's currently spent and what is required, then you can increase or indeed decrease the amount.
Not saying I necessarily believe that's what the conservatives have done, despite them saying they have. Nobody likes getting less than what they get now
Do you agree that a number of schools who receive the most per head run surplus budgets?
Do you think there is any wastage in schools?
None of that or anything I have posted is meant to insult yours or anyone else's intelligence, but by the same token, in a field I have a high degree of knowledge & experience don't expect me to believe a word a political party says on the subject as invariably it's spin, labour to the left Torres to the right here I am stuck in the middle with you.....
You seem an intelligent bloke Muttley (and I mean that sincerely), so contact your local council I'll almost guarantee they'll bite your hand off to be a governor, you'll see under the skin first hand and I'm sure be an asset to whichever school you serve.
