Would libs want to go in a coalition with the Tories?

No surely the only parties that would join the Tories would be the Unionist parties in NI
How many parties would have to join for a labour led coalition? Crazy situation. Still expect a Tory majority though.
  • I've a sneaking suspicion the Tories may end up with a small majority, especially.as I hear it's very tight in scotland, may either way, May made a big call and it looks like she lost. And she only has herself to blame. She's toast.
  • Theresa May is dead in the water. Resignation by the end of tonight.
  • A small Tory majority is possible but would still be a major embarassment for May who called the election to significantly increase her majority.

My prediction of a hung parliament was correct.

I think my prediction of May going will be correct.

I think the prediction of a Lab minority gov will be correct.

I think we will be back here in a year!

    Surely a Tory minority government?
I wouldn't want that. May has to go if this is correct as she hasn't done what she set out to do.

Frankly we don't have a clear choice for the country. We will have total division, the U.K. will be broken in half.

Watching the coalition builder and every option is shit.

Based on the figures the progressive alliance won't get there so McBobbins post could be right
She called the election because Labour was massively behind and she thought a shambles. She had a majority and enough support to do what she wanted. If these figures are correct and it is an if, she is probably finished as a politician. She did fight one of the poorest campaigns in living memory - understandable in may ways to let Corbyn cock it up, but when he performed stronger than expected, she didn't react and change tack. She also allowed herself to move away from the safe ground - this was because she thought she could destroy Labour but it could go into the realms of legendary cock ups.
  • May is toast.

It's worth looking at the widely panned (including by me) YouGov model which predicted a Hung Parliament

    Could Labour gain Canterbury?

    Not a chance unfortunately.

They'll vote Brazier back in reasonably confortably.
  • Might be almost as exciting as the Portillo 1997 moment if Rudd and other ministers get dumped.

Might have to throw an all nighter now. Triffic Exit Poll excitement

I normally do. But I decided I wasn't going to tonight so I haven't got my supplies in!

  • Well, judging by the political opinions of those talking about Theresa May's leadership to date, and by calling an election when she already had a majority, Theresa May has successfully fucked Britain up for everyone.
  • The problem with Michael Fallon is he is completely incapable of giving an honest answer and resorts to well-rehearsed, choreographed spin every time.
  • Fiiish said:

What is it with Tories and calling unnecessary votes then fucking it up?

If, if it fucks up, then it reaffirms the arrogance of the inner sanctum of the Tories. They need to be taught a lesson and I hope this is it

Are SNP losing seats to the Conservatives or Labour.

Glad I had a sleep this afternoon, it is going to be quite a night.
I think it is fair to say a 75 seat majority isn't going to happen.

Almost half 2 in the afternoon here. Seriously considering a bit of a kip given we won't have any interesting results for like 2-3 hours.

Disagree. If this is the outcome then it shows clearly how the country feels. Like it or not it is a divided country as shown by Brexit and potentially now this. No politician or party has come out to accurately represent the view of the majority of the nation.

My hope is that this a big old reset on the bullshit and career politicians we've had for far too long. A chance for all the parties to get their shit together and serve the people. Then again that's all unlikely and the gravy train will carry on as usual.
  • May thought Corbyn was so unelectable that she called an election.
So did I to be fair.
Over the last few weeks Corbyn has absolutely proved her wrong.
    She is history

  • May missed an open goal.
Talk about underestimating things. She walks in Snowdonia and decides to call an election for the most spurious of reasons. She wrong foots the opposition yet they fight back. What does that say about her judgement?
Who will be the next Tory leader?
  • Are SNP losing seats to the Conservatives or Labour.

I guess labour since they had most of them before, but the Tories there were doing quite well (by their standards)
  • Amber Rudd losing her seat would be a victory all in itself.

Im sure there will be job offers from Saudi Arabia

Don't, just don't. I'm shuddering at the prospect.
  • Official exit poll:

    CON 314
    LAB 266
    SNP 34
    LD 14
    PC 3
    GRN 1
