The funniest thing is there was absolutely no need for the Prime Minister to call an election - it was completely unnecessary.
I remember talking to an old politician once here in Australia and he said the most important thing to remember in politics is that people hate having to go out and vote, they consider it to be a real pain in the backside - that is really important to remember .
There is a very big difference in the mentality of people between when they have to vote because an election is due to happen and being forced to vote because a politician calls and election at a time which suits them.
I think that May is paying a very high price for her arrogance in calling an election two years after the last one simply because she wanted a bigger majority - people really hate that kind of stuff from politicians because it makes them feel like they are being used.
May missed an open goal. Talk about underestimating things. She walks in Snowdonia and decides to call an election for the most spurious of reasons. She wrong foots the opposition yet they fight back. What does that say about her judgement? Who will be the next Tory leader?
Bojo.
Read somewhere he was 100/1 to pm on 1st July. Someone had £2k on it.
Well, judging by the political opinions of those talking about Theresa May's leadership to date, and by calling an election when she already had a majority, Theresa May has successfully fucked Britain up for everyone.
I'm very sceptical but I will love it if it's true.
Exactly what I think now having seen the seats they are predicting. Feeling right now is a Tory majority but definitely not the big gains they were hoping for.
If we end up with a Labour SNP coalition in any form I am applying for Swiss citizenship
Don't see that happening, based on the poll Labour & SNP gives you 300, still 26 short. Instead of a hung parliament i'm going for lets just hang them all (out to dry) and insist on new MP's in all areas.
Anyway, looking on the bright side, in all the uncertainty over the next few hours it's time to get money trading!
May thought Corbyn was so unelectable that she called an election. So did I to be fair. Over the last few weeks Corbyn has absolutely proved her wrong. She is history
I don't think Corbyn has had to do much at all. If Labour could have found a charasmatic leading candidate they would have strolled this

Blimey. You'd almost be able to put a decent deposit on a one bedroom, studio flat in Woolwich with that much!
Not surprised at Conservatives taking SNP seats in Aberdeenshire and Perthshire. I predicted that they'd take a few Scottish seats earlier in this thread. But I am not buying those numbers just quoted in the BBC coverage.

If he gets in you'll be able to buy 2 or 3 in the repossession auctions.......

I mean there's a man prancing around what can only be described as a 'holochamber' on BBC One. What a time to be alive.

Parties having to work together instead of some crazy warped no deal situation....
Then again I guess Labour now have the right to regurgitate the Leave campaign's responses to the currency crash after Brexit.

Politics in 2017 people.
Tories overturning a 7k SNP majority in Aberdeenshire, into a 6k lead???
Called a General election, when it wasn't needed.
Extraordinary if true
