    I would have been happy if he stayed, but not too bothered if he doesn't either. He's the sort of L1 level player you'd hope would be easier to replace or find something better

    Really !! What possible grounds do you have to think that this window will be any different to all the others.

    Of course I hope you are right but I can see the "we just couldn't get them over the line" trotted out once again. We've not had an adequate or balanced squad since Duchatelet took over. I'm not expecting this to be any different.

    I would suggest there is possibly a healthy dose of sarcasm in there from swisdom.

    I agree though, i am almost certain this window will be like every other, and we will be left short of a full squad come what ever too early day in August the season starts.

    Calm down everyone, we've got a top six budget and Katrien Meire is doing everything she can to fuck it up secure promotion at the second earliest opportunity after an unnecessary and avoidable relegation.

    Each transfer window has been more desperate and abject than the previous one and this will be no exception.

    The early stages are always the least depressing and it then gets gradually worse until we realise we really have got a squad of 8 centre backs and 6 under 11 loanees.

    I think some of you are deluded. Never in a million years are we going to sign a player from the Championship or relegated from the Prem. Firstly their wages are going to be too high, esp those from the Prem (£20k p/wk min) and then they are going to have loftier ambitions, or at least want to sign for a "bigger" club or one that has a faint hope of getting into the Premiership anytime soon.

    I dont think you get the joke about Alex Bruce...

    Aston Villa are managed by Steve Bruce (Alex's Dad) - Can you really imagine him going anywhere but there, especially as he was signed by Hull when Steve Bruce was in charge

    sorry, wasn't really thinking about the player, just about a relegated team from the Prem. Also didn't twig that Bruce Snr is at Villa - when did Ron Saunders leave then ?.
