Carabao Cup (League Cup) (double bracket but not worthy of a sticky Norwich away next round)

No, as those clubs who qualify for Europe don't come into the third round (Does that include Liverpool?)PaddyP17 said:Next round can we have big away days at United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man City and Liverpool, please?

Exeter City are fan-based owned with local directors.
The fans saved the club from near financial extinction in 2003 due to the depredations of the previous owners, by forming a Trust and rallying fans and local businesses.
Their Supporters Trust is no friend of Meire or Duchatelet
and they are well acquainted with the struggle of the Charlton fans as the picture from a 2016 home game shows.

Reading that twitter feed we do have some classless knobs as fans0

An away game for us, only an hour down the A303, I might get slightly excited0

Exeter would seem like a great place for a mid journey break! Lots of history, good compact shopping centre and riverside walks (if family need convincing).ForeverAddickted said:
Oh christ thanks for the reminder... Will be heading down to Cornwall for a holiday on the day of this matchgolfaddick said:
bit gutted really. I will be holidaying in Devon the week before & returning on the first day of the season - don't think I will stay for a few days more just to see us lose to Exeter. I went to Northwich & to Hereford so done the first round knockouts already.Henry Irving said:Second furthest away game possible?
Good for the West Country Addicks though
Such a shame it'll be too far to head back from Newquay to attend

Surely instead of picking the balls out, a nice young lady could fire them out from a "legs akimbo" position1

Well worth the 9hour round trip from Woolwich.....on a Tuesday night.0

2nd round draw at 10pm tonight. Sure I'm being thick, but can someone please explain this to me:
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/efl-cup-draw-2017-when-is-it-when-does-the-second-round-start-a3608551.html
"The 25 highest-placed teams from last season's league campaign are all seeded and will avoided each other"
The Standard article has a list of the seeds and a list of the non-seeds. There are 25 seeds and 21 non-seeds. That means there'll be 4 seeded teams left at the end with nobody to play, right? Confused!
Anyway, who do we want?
I'd like West Ham or Fulham away please. Not Palace, not keen on being humiliated down there again.0 -
we cant play west ham away0

Thank you, it all makes sense now! Apart from 25 seeded teams and 21 unseeded teams, which is still confusing!blackpool72 said:0 -

yeah im lost aswell
25 seeded
and
21 unseeded

They have missed some teams out as there should be 50 teams in the second round (25 + 21 = 46 *no worries on doing the maths for you*)0
-
We make up the numbers by getting drawn out of the hat 5 times, rather than the twice last time.5
-
i get the 46 but where are the other 4 teams coming from?0
-
Thank you. So I'm not mad then! Maybe they're following the format they used in the first round draw:palarsehater said:yeah im lost aswell

Charlton Athletic vs West Ham
Sunderland vs Charlton Athletic
Huddrsfield Town vs Charlton Athletic
Charlton Athletic vs Leicester City
That's gonna be a test for us. Hopefully they'll let us spread them over the Tuesday and Wednesday.1 -
70 matches in the first round so 35 go through plus 15 new teams makes 50. They must have just missed 4 teams out, no idea whopalarsehater said:i get the 46 but where are the other 4 teams coming from?

Could they be leaving two 'seeded' team games that might appeal to TV?MrLargo said:2nd round draw at 10pm tonight. Sure I'm being thick, but can someone please explain this to me:
