Exeter City are fan-based owned with local directors. The fans saved the club from near financial extinction in 2003 due to the depredations of the previous owners, by forming a Trust and rallying fans and local businesses.
Their Supporters Trust is no friend of Meire or Duchatelet and they are well acquainted with the struggle of the Charlton fans as the picture from a 2016 home game shows.
bit gutted really. I will be holidaying in Devon the week before & returning on the first day of the season - don't think I will stay for a few days more just to see us lose to Exeter. I went to Northwich & to Hereford so done the first round knockouts already.
Oh christ thanks for the reminder... Will be heading down to Cornwall for a holiday on the day of this match
Such a shame it'll be too far to head back from Newquay to attend
Exeter would seem like a great place for a mid journey break! Lots of history, good compact shopping centre and riverside walks (if family need convincing).
"The 25 highest-placed teams from last season's league campaign are all seeded and will avoided each other"
The Standard article has a list of the seeds and a list of the non-seeds. There are 25 seeds and 21 non-seeds. That means there'll be 4 seeded teams left at the end with nobody to play, right? Confused!
Anyway, who do we want?
I'd like West Ham or Fulham away please. Not Palace, not keen on being humiliated down there again.

Could they be leaving two 'seeded' team games that might appeal to TV?
