Don't play the game anymore but remember when squad numbers were first introduced during my school days. Was so excited just to allocate a few numbers!

Last year it was like the night before the first game. And Hanlan didn't get one and then was on the bench. Apparently another "protest" statement by Slade. Don't miss him.

His username has 7 in it but you're right, he did hashtag 32 this afternoon so maybe he's getting the number back. ;-)

See, if I was manager bullshit like Page being number 2 just wouldn't fly. I'm having none of that. If 3's taken he can have 16, 21, 33 or he can do one.

Aueely Pearce will get 6 ahead of Nobby

I believe that Pearce likes the number 16 and has worn it at most clubs he has been at. (Maybe not, I checked and see he has normally been 5 but also 6. So maybe that'll be number 6)

Can see one of Kashi or Forster-Caskey being number 8, although Kashi will probably be 25. Watt will almost certainly go back to his 32. Marshall definitely number 7 with Holmes 11. If Page is still number 2, I'll have a mini freak out because I'm funny like that, a left back just can't be number 2 in my eyes, doesn't sit right with me.

    My guess:
    1 Amos
    2 Page
    3 DaSilva
    4 JJ
    5 Bauer
    6 Pearce
    7 Fosu
    8 Crofts
    9 Magennis
    10 Reeves/left open
    11 Holmes
    12 Clarke
    13 Phillips
    14 Forster-Caskey
    15 Konsa
    16 Sarr
    17 Marshall
    18 KAG

Pretty good guess @SDAddick although it'll be fantastic if we did have two Kashi's, we really would dominate midfield without trouble...

Also believe that number 10 will be Clarke. There will also be more left open for new players, ones like Hackett-Fairchild will be in the 30's I would imagine.

Lewis Page's morale just went from "good" to "very poor".
It'll be 'abysmal' by the time I've left him out of the Champions League squad and tried to force him to sack his agent

I just want to say I hadn't seen these tweets when I put Watt as 32.

Also, think he's a top guy if he gets that fan a new shirt.

It really annoys me when 1st year youth players want numbers 1-11 as there preference.
Who do they think they are? What happened to earning your number?
Youngsters these days have too much too young.

It would be so much easier if we just allocated shirt numbers alphabetically. Actually thats madness; and would mean Amos gets 1, and that must go to a sweaty scottish defender.

Might follow the Karl Robinson number system that we've used in every friendly.

    1 Amos
    2 Solly 4 Konsa/Bauer 5 Pearce 3 Dasilva
    6 Kashi 8 JFC
    7 Marshall/Fosu 10 Clarke (Reeves?) 11 Holmes
    9 Magennis

Not sure who 2 will be as I'm sure Solly will keep 20.

I agree completely. If they're a decent youngster I'll give them a higher equivalent of their number but if they're some space-filling no-mark they can have 52 and like it.

One of my pet peeves in FM is when you've built a legacy at a club, decide to move on to spice things up, come up against your old team again and find that the new manager has given the star striker number 6, the reserve keeper is now 1 because it's his favourite, the left back is 8 and the right winger is 13. Breaks my heart

What is the highest squad number we've ever had? Pretty sure we've had a 40 something before
