Tarmonbarry 8k in Ireland chip time 49:42.
Now off for a Guinness and Sunday lunch!13 -
Some great running stories here. I have started a new training plan this week aiming to get me back on the trust next summer doing some 800m.
This summer was too hot for any kind of distance training and I lost a bit of interest in running and my times suffered other than on the few parkruns I did. So as I enjoyed my track races when younger I thought let’s give it a go.
will likely mean a few more parkruns as well.5 -
Am loving it so far next one up is Brighton half end of Feb.Then have Saucony 10k in July
was booked for the big half but that won’t be happening as going to oasis in Ireland. So will potentially do the royal parks half in place of it0 -
Canterbury parkrun was the destination of choice for me on Saturday. I was expecting loads of students to be taking part as its next to the university, but they must of all stayed in bed.
They had pacers, but once I realised that it was quite a challenging course I decided to not try and go for a time.
The marshalls were very cheerful and I did finish with a little sprint, overtaking a man in a tutu.1 -
I've heard it's a bit hilly on this course. I did a sprint triathlon around there once and the bike was the hardest part. Well done.larryorcolin said:Canterbury parkrun was the destination of choice for me on Saturday. Got 13 miles into the Kent North Downs 50k before my knee blew up on me. Managed to limp to half way before having to pull out. Gutted as was going pretty well and enjoying it before then.4

I managed to shave off nearly 3 minutes from the last run two weeks ago (41.12), with a finish time of 38.17 at Dover ParkRun yesterday, paced again by my daughter. I've kept up the Couchto5K sessions as I found this enables to me to practise lengthening my stride towards the end of the sessions which appears to have paid off. I was fourth in my age category (70-74) which was won with a time of 26.46 with 3rd place a creditable 31.02. Lots of incentive there!10

My 9 year old lad did a sub 27 park run at Norman park yesterday. I had him at around 29 and a half mark so was absolutely buzzing when he came in with that time. 7th in his age category so there’s some quick 9 year olds out there!

Ran Gibraltar parkrun today, fun course but a bit hilly 😊5

Stacked it today on a tree root in a forest in N.Suffolk. Thought I’d only injured my pride when 3 old dears (who were all ahead of me grrr) came back to help me.
I shooed them off in the end but when I got home I discovered a corking display of bruisery on my funny bone.At least I beat the rain though….1 -
Compton Abbas Airfield near Shaftesbury for the second time. Three laps, circling the runway. The briefing included instructions on what to do if there is an emergency landing while the event is in progress.
Just started serious training for Tokyo marathon. Got round in 26:32 to be first 65 to 69 😊
Wore Charlton shirt. Chap next to me in carpark was 75 year old West Ham fan, who was driving up to Preston later to do a 50 miler tomorrow!
Luckily didn’t realise our brave lads were on at lunchtime today 🫠3 -
Watched the planes and had a very nice lunch there with the MiL a few years back. It's quite an exposed location, especially on a windy day.GoldthorpesHeel said:Compton Abbas Airfield near Shaftesbury for the second time. Three laps, circling the runway.
