There we go, 50 partnership up. Exactly what we didn't need.

    From 209-5 to 366-7...
  • If you don't turn the ball you aren't a spinner you're a slow bowler.
  • Australia about to reach 400, Marsh about to get to 100.

That's the 100 just before the break. Partnership of 91 now.

    402-7

    Marsh 100*
    Cummins 41*

Well that sums it up. Woakes bouncer finally catches the shoulder of the bat... loops up to the slips right in the middle of Cook and Vince. Both go for it, collision occurs, ball rolls past.

    409-7 after the second session.
  • 209 for 5 to 409 for 7 simply isn't good enough.
Something similar cost us the first test and in all likelihood will cost us this one also.
  • England's day in four pictures

  • I posted yesterday saying the Aussies will get 500. I will now state that England will be bowled out for under 250.

I still think you'll be wrong Dick - they'll declare before they get to 500!
  • This is embarrassing.
  • 442 declaration

You were right mate. I am now holding my breath to see what Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon get out of this wicket. I bet it will be more than the England bowlers.

  • Worryingly predictable.
  • Starc 93.5 mph.
  • Starc 93.5 mph.

Consistently over 90mph, such a different threat than the English bowlers in the low 80s
  • Marsh given not out lbw to Anderson. Reviewed and decision upheld. Pitched outside leg stump.

Can someone please explain why if a ball pitches outside leg stump you can't be lbw ? In my view if its going to hit the stumps it should be out - thats the whole bloody point of the game.
It is to discourage negative tactics where bowlers would bowl purely for the leg stump, with right arm bowlers constantly bowling around the wicket to right handers etc
  • All our pace bowlers in this series bowl between 80 to 85 mph.
In England when the ball is swinging and seaming this is fine but in Australia we really do need someone with genuine pace

To give you another example, typically by 3rd/4th day, there are a lot of footmarks outside the right handers leg stump for which a leg spinner can use and get exhorbitant spin from.- but primarily, as Ben says is to stop negative bowling.

The major problem being that we dont have any of any real quality aside from Wood.

    Unfortunately this is true
  • Stoneman gone.

    Starc looks rapid.
  • I’m watching from behind the sofa
  • Raining now. Covers on
  • Right I'm off Wimbledon.
    See you all later
  • Funny how their covers are so different from ours, which are wheeled on

Think the rain might've saved our bacon for the evening.

    29-1 off 9.1 overs

If we can bat most of tomorrow and get within 100 and then take some quick wickets under the lights, we're back in it.... LOL
  • We all just know it aint gonna happen though.
I've switched allegiance to Rugby Onion when playing Oz - thank feck we didnt draw them in World Cup - they'd have probably beaten us then.
