  • I don't hate Solly for what he did, but I am disappointed with his actions. And confused, as it wasn't as if the Ebbsfleet contract he got was exactly "life changing". As club captain he could have been useful in the dressing room, and I'm sure he would have got a few minutes in those 9 games.

And if he had been injured, I'm sure the club would have supported him, which is what generally happens when a player gets injured when a player is about to be out of contract, especially a "legend".
  • My favourite Solly moment was being behind the screamer he hit at Blackpool.
He ran over to the 600 Charlton at the other end whilst we belted out "he's only 5'3 Chris Solly, Solly".
  • where has he gone?
  • Wonder if that means he'll be joining Nathan Jones' coaching staff... Or whether he'll be working more with the U21s or U18s.

The latter would make sense alongside Jason Pearce.
  • I'm a fan of that

  • Rich has now edited his tweet. Says Academy, so will be working more with the U21's and U18's.

It could also mean a younger age group?

It could. Just says Academy at the moment. Either way, good addition and can only help our youngsters.
  • And I'm sure we wouldn't have had him back if the end of his career with us was all down to him.
  • Still waiting for him to explain what happened... Didn't he say he would shed light on it.

Is there anyone at the club, who'd have been involved in that saga now?
  • That's good news, welcome back Sols!

  • I loved being at Leyton Orient when Solly scored his first goal.
  • Is he still 5 foot 3, and better than John Terry?

Jason Pearce. I think he played in all those games on the run in and I'm sure he wouldn't want to be working with him if he Solly was totally at fault for the situation. Steve Avory, who would probably know him better than any other person at the club, would have been asked for character references too before the appointment I would have thought too.
  • Sometimes what happen in the past is best left there. I hope he has a future with CAFC it is where he belongs.
  • These new owners!, when are they gonna get their wallets out, fobbing us off with some old non-league coach, how is that gonna get us promoted, shame!, boo, etc  >:)
  • I was hoping there might be a player / coaching role available for Bonne.
Im sure he still has unfinished business.
  • Honestly if 1) he's willing to come back and 2) Pearce is happy to work with him then I'd say it's time to move on and look forward not backwards.

He was a very good defender in his day and hopefully he can pass some of that onto the academy boys.
  • very happy with this
