My view: if this is a genuine attempt to celebrate 25 years rather than just a fundraiser for charity, then it should be priced/organised so the key stakeholders, fans and valley party activists of that era can attend. Fundraising while worthy should be a side-shoot of that. So I don't agree about the demand angle.3

Just for once I am a little bit ITK.
The announcement last week that there were only ten tables left was at that time correct. On Saturday I was told it was down to five tables, so it is no surprise that the event is now the sell-out that it deserves to be.
Complimentary tickets are covered by the Dinner's two main sponsors, I understand.
I hope that all events commemorating the latest anniversary of this wonderful mile-stone in our history are a great success.

Like wise the home game, a celebration would be £10 a ticket and try and fill The Valley.
But instead we get a price rise? to capitalise on those going/returning.

I absolutely agree. There must be a good chance that the JS will sell out, and it's shameful that more attractive pricing hasn't been offered to ensure the same for the home areas. I will be coming to celebrate the return (hopefully sitting in the same area as 93) and ready for a protest. Hopefully it won't be a one man one again!0

In order to make it look, er, more full up than it would otherwise. How many of the Valley party candidates will be there? How many of them receiving complimentary tickets? Nowhere near as many as there should be because, by and large, they oppose the regime and the regime hasn't been big enough to reach out and try to make it a representative celebration.Badger said:

Was a good time had by all? I can't speak for everyone but I think it was fantastic. Plenty of alcohol, lots of conversations with the former players and I had a couple drop out on my at the last minute so had Paul Elliott and Roger Godsiff on my table as well as Mr and Mrs

A brilliant event, excellently compered by Steve Sutherland and organised by loads of people.
Charlton is far from perfect at the moment but, once again, this event was a real success.

It was an excellent night, thoroughly enjoyable.
I didn't get far round the room so I'm afraid I missed the Museum exhibits.
And I can't speak about the veggie option. For carnivores the rations provided were more than adequate.
CACT must have had a great night - the auction alone made over £14k. I don't know of any other beneficiaries.
The Valley Party got extended and very appreciative exposure - great respect shown.
For BaTV I've been to the Museum event, the Xbars Q&A, CAST at the Swan, and last night. I also went to a football match on Saturday afternoon, but nuff said about that. Each of the four events was a very special occasion, 110% Charlton, but each different in its own way. I wouldn't have missed any of them. I will say this about last night, though - apart from the celebs and the other folks on our table I don't think I recognised anyone else. Many could have been CACT-related, of course. It did seem a bit strange, however, having been surrounded by so many familiar faces elsewhere.
A definite highlight was Matthias from German Addicks hunting down autographs - no mercy!
An amazing few days - I'm prouder than ever to be an Addick. The new owner/s will be the luckiest in football, to have such a brilliant club waiting for them.

It was a very special evening indeed and it was a privilege to be there.
Suthers was his usual professional but humorous self & kept proceedings moving along smoothly.
The Q & A with Webbo, Walshie & Curbs was well worth waiting for - heroes all.....although I think the loudest cheer of the evening was heard when SCP was introduced as being present.
Lots of ex players were seated around the packed North Stand suite/Crossbars including Jon Fortune, Kevin Lisbie , John Humphrey & Mark Robson as well as Nelse, Carlo, Sweaty and the other usual suspects. Most gathered at one time or another at the table adjacent to ours where Webbo, Walshie & Sweaty were seated alongside former club employees Sarah Monahan, Sue Gallop, Hayley & Ged Clout and Marilyn Rook who still works on matchdays, I believe. There was clearly a special bond between players and these ladies which had formed during the years in exile and remains today , although Sarah's Mum, Jackie who sadly passed away a few years ago, was there in spirit - she was sorely missed. I wonder whether such a close relationship will survive from the Duchatele years......
But the overall sense of the evening was one of togetherness. Fans, players, managers, ex Directors , sponsors - with the common denominator being our own special memories of our very special club and the return to our Home.
We can but hope that such unity can be forged once again when the Belgians release their hold and return whence they came.
With the strong, determined & unique characters we have behind the scenes ( who have made it abundantly clear over the past 3+ years that they won't go away) plus the few, brave & resilient members of staff thus far"spared" by KM, I feel confident that such a bond can be recreated.
It won't happen overnight. It may take several years. But it WILL happen. We SHALL be singing from the same hymn sheet one fine day.
And we may well be fighting for tickets to the next Anniversary celebration......that marking the rebirth of our famous football club , Phoenix like from the ashes of the Belgian occupation.
It will be worth waiting for.

I would also say that it was a great evening, sat next to Killer one of my childhood heroes.
Very well organised, the evening just flew by.
Didn't notice KM ( thank God ) if she was even there.
The evening was very much about the players and the people that made this happen 25 years ago any body that boycotted the evening IMHO missed out on one of the best Charlton related days for some years.
And the best bit of all was that the trust benefitted with a nice little earner.3
