  • I haven't read all the previous threads but during our
Championship winning season didn't we have Matt Svennson
and John Salako (at the end of his career) playing for us.
Don't think they ever let us down!

Salami could probably deliver a better cross now than most of our players.
    Quality.
Shame we never got him a few years earlier

Brentford rumoured to want him back, so we may not get him.

That's what you get for letting the cat out of the bag ...... suddenly a club in a higher league want him, especially one where the player has done well before.

    Sigh.

Oh for the days when Curbs did all his deals in secret.
And we only found out on the OS.

You mean the days before social media? Where there were at most two deadlines to publication per day? And even if rumors did get out there wasn't a huge central hub where everyone could go to see them?

Given he's played for them, I doubt they've just learned about him. You'd imagine Palace have offered him around and are probably looking for guarantees in terms of money and playing time.

    Just tongue in cheek, SD.

You're right, of course though ...... social media has changed the face of communication in recent years.
There's no secrets in the world these days.

Palace are without doubt wanting to ensure the player gets competitive playing time, otherwise he might as well stay where he is.

PS: Didn't an earlier post on here say he was already at Sparrows Lane?

if Brentford have nipped in this must be so frustrating for KR. What a shambles.

    As opposed to signing nobody?

We need bodies in - we had 5 subs last week....a 35 year old player coach, a striker with an handful of appearances, a goalkeeper, and 2 players than were injured.

The w*ker owner won’t let the manager have ANY money, sold our best player last week, is likely to sell Konsa soon and we have a couple of weeks until the transfer window closes.

If we can a sign a Player from Crystal Palace (premier league team) on loan, then why not?

Or should we just keep going until we have to play Dillon Phillips at Right Back and Lee Bowyer up front?

Agree with all you say - the key word was “pleased”.

I’ll be pleased just to get some more players on board.

Assuming if he signed this late in the day, he wouldn’t be eligible for tomorrow now?

He's gone down in history though as one of the goal scorers in our record 6-0 away win at Barnsley a few seasons back.

    .

I know you hate Robinson with the fury of 1,000 suns and everything he does and touches, but he's working with next to nothing here, surely you see that?

No money or gazillions to spend, the answer to the question: "where do we need to strengthen?" is patently not "winger"
Whether or not this is KR's work - and I'm perfectly prepared to accept that it isn't - it is comically indefensible

Roland pulled the plug on it and now he's going elsewhere?

Sigh indeed... Have you read Curbs's autobiography? Ever heard him talk about his time at Charlton?
In the main he presented his list of wishes to RM et al and they sorted out who came and how much for etc etc
If he'd been shouting his mouth off about who he rated, who he wanted, we'd have heard all about it then, just as now.
Curbs didn't do it in secret, according to him he did very little of it. But let's not allow witless whimsy to be disrupted by actual events, eh?

CharltonLife Exclusive You won't read this on twatter or fookbace:- I can reveal that I have been to the training ground and seen there by a number of people. You are well advised 'tho WIOTOS before getting excited/underwhelmed/furious/sickened at the prospect of my joining the payroll

The one and only Charlton game Mrs AUN has attended. I’ve managed to shield her from that day til now. She still thinks we’re half decent.

Oh dear. Some really ignorant comments on this thread, such as -
Signing Kaikai on loan is scraping the bottom of the barrel, because he's a Palace player, or he's on loan, or he started his career at lower league clubs. Try ITTV, you'll fit in just fine there.

You're normally a reasonably sensible poster CE, but rather than slag ITTV off on the subject of Kaikai, I suggest you have a look for yourself and you will see no one is moaning about signing this player, in fact it's far more positive than on here!
My first look at that ITTV site (thanks Al).
Who is the loudmouth Reams & whats his Usename on here ? He doesn’t like Charlton fans much

We’re not sure. It could be any number of people on here.

It's clearly that Henry Irvine geezer.

Reams is Paul May, son of Eddie May, he doesn't post on here
Hey Johnny73, have no problem with you giving the post a lol, but would be genuinely interested to understand what was funny?
Sure. It was the 'he doesn't post on here' comment. I just found it funny.
