    200 up after 29 overs.

If you go by the old adage of taking the score after 30 overs and then doubling it a big score could be on the cards here ...

(Or the Kent version: add 50 to the total, all out ...)

In the last six weeks Billings has batted 8 times with scores of 9,3,9,3,27,1,0 & 4.

He was interviewed with the score on 8-3 in the middle and asked what he was going to do and his response was that he would need to form a partnership. After two dot balls he was out.

And therein lies the problem for batsmen who commit to the shortest form of the game. It is extremely hard to assess pitch conditions when you're in form but when you're not it must be nigh on impossible. And how do you then go about playing yourself into form when the need to tee off is, well, yesterday?

So that's 58 runs in 9 innings now and the question is the same albeit that he had plenty of time to take a look at it today.

I'm surprised, given the scoreboard, Dickson has come in ahead of Stevens. 10 overs of Stevens, if he comes off, could get us up to nearly 400

Kent record score in the Royal London Cup is 383/7 v Somerset in 2014.

With a little bit of luck we can beat that.

Need to remember that Beckenham is a small ground and probably worth 50 runs because of that but at least the bowlers have something to defend and Surrey will need to be aggressive if they are to beat us.

384/8. Beats Kent record by a run.

    Not bad at all Kent.

Somerset v Gloucester is a No Result so the table is going to look good after this game.

Surrey 140/6 in reply after 24 overs, so just the small matter of 9.42 runs per over required from here on in with only 4 wickets remaining

Surrey only need 221 to win off 20 overs with one wicket in hand!
