Initial reaction was it was excessively harsh. 5-6 years ago you'd have to punch someone to get kicked off. Looking at it again and thinking of recent years I'm not surprised. What would have been racing incidents seem to now be punished by the commisary.
Hard to tell on the chronology but looked like it started when Rowe and Thomas were blocked and forced to the gravel. Then Rowe moved Kruisjwijk off the Jumbo pack into the peloton.
Not sure if it'll make a defining difference as Jumbo and Ineos will want FDJ to hurt Quick Step. If Wout Poels is off again that's the factor for Ineos.
Colin, DIGAF that you know more about cycling than me, or that I am not fully conversant with Wiggin's history? He may have been in road teams pre 2009 but was a track cyclist primarily. Beijing two gold medals or TdF? At his peak he was a recognised ITT specialist. JA is not. His improvement is not natural and the recent disqualifications lead me to believe that he will be not be scrutinised properly on that issue.

you claimed that he was a track cyclist in 2007 but he really wasn't. in 2007 he was a road cyclist (and had been since 2005) who raced on the track a couple of times that year, he just happened to be quite successful on those returns

Yet he won two golds in Beijing in 2008. Where do you think his priorities lay? But my comments were about Alaphilippe. Colin introduced Wiggins to justify the former's improvement.
Whether it's Ulrich climbing like a time triallist, Jalabert and Armstrong climbing like a sprinter, or Contador yo yoing like a blood bag on a spring, I've never seen anyone cycle like that.
How can you not hold or match watts/weight power, but sprint back on out the saddle on the inside of turns and switchbacks at 2500m? The commentators didn't even mention it. Still the descent was fun for a couple of k's.
That is something very different unless I'm missing something and it ain't fooking ketones. Perpetual motion bb?

Not surprised he managed to get back on to that main group
Tomorrow is a bit of the same but Saturday will really see if he has the legs as guess there will be desperation attacks

Just had to drop back to the Team Doctor for some serious attention where he completely stopped and is 2mins 42sec behind the Yellow Jersey group
Apparently his FDJ team mates knew he had a problem as didnt bother stopping when he slowed
Especially after his performance to win the stage the other day
Not if it's Jou Jou in yellow.
