On being offered anti-depressant medication: "I didn’t take the medicine as I’m a vegan and don’t believe in it". Fair comment. The medication will have been tested on animals and it may contain animal-derived ingredients. He has every right, and reason, to say 'no'. He is being open and honest. That's not a 'shocker', is it? Good luck to you, Josh.
Smoked Tofoo - Absolutely loved it. Made a sauce with tomato and paprika and a few assorted veg. Gorgeous. This will become a regular.
My son's vegetarian Lasagne - Best meal I've had in ages. Hoping he does it again soon.
Vegan Burgers and Sausages from the Iceland range - The landlord at one of our regular haunts got these in for us. They aren't on the menu, but he said he'd get them if ever we phoned ahead. Surprisingly good. Something else we'll be having again.
Almond milk - sorry, couldn't get on with this. The taste was weird and it has a funny smell like sawdust. I've got half a carton left and don't want to waste it, but it'll take an amazing turnaround in the second half for me to buy this again.
@Stig try making your own Almond milk it's a million times better than the stuff they sell in the shops, really easy to make too.
Interesting idea Stu, but for me I think it would have to be significantly different not just better. Plus, I struggle to find the time to make essentials like ale, without wasting time on fripperies like milk

I only recently started as my wife has had to give up milk whilst breastfeeding, I certainly prefer real milk still especially in my coffee.
I've recently been trying to be more self sufficient food wise due to the quality of stuff here, so far I've mastered various breads/bagels, cakes, jams, smoked salmon and a few other bits and bobs, it's turning into a hobby.
I'm doing my first batch of bacon tomorrow, but best not mention that on this thread
Every year, across the UK and EU, around 10 million sows and their piglets are locked up in cages for weeks at a time.
‘M6NTHS’, an award-winning documentary by Eline Helena Schellekens, reveals the suffering that these animals endure by following the life of piglets on factory farms. The film has already won a Panda Award – the most prestigious award for wildlife films.
Compassion in World Farming is sharing this powerful film here for two weeks only, in support of the End the Cage Age campaign. Watch and share it now to show your support – and remember to sign the petition too!

Stig - Steve Irwin was a committed conservationist and animal lover, who probably did more to advance the public's awareness of animals and conservation than the entirety of Peta's membership, past and present. Peta decided to use a Google doodle celebrating his life to completely ignore his efforts.
Peta really, really are not good people and they are not friends of conservationists or of animals.
My vegan nieces came to stay the other week. I took them to a vegan restaurant in Folkestone called Dr Legumes. Excellent food and their oatmilk cappuccino was the best coffee I've had in years. It was a genuine eye opener.

Every day is a school day.
I had had no idea that almonds had tits.
You've never heard the term "almond milkers" then?

People can be so cruel. It doesn't have to be this way.
