He has been better, but he’s just been better than the previous level of piss poor. His level now is what should be expected as a minimum requirement and he’s getting praise for it. We have had to buy/ loan other players because the ones we’ve got haven’t been cutting it and Morgan is a prime example.
I expect Fraser to unseat him, but not right now. He's playing well and delivering at the moment.
2 assists today and you rant about the rest of his performance. As a play maker his job is to get assists and create opportunities for his teammates to score. He's done that.
looking a joking and backbiting apart he has been doing better, had the shirt, let’s see what happens. I don’t dislike him it’s just a footballing opinion.👍3 -
Glad he’s having a good run of it and finally fulfilling some of his promise. I’d just about given up on him coming good. He’s been a big piece in our last three wins and felt we missed him when he was subbed - not something I’ve ever said before so whatever he’s doing with Jacko, Euell and Skiverton is working and long may it continue.
I will hazard a guess that the all action play of Dobson (crunching tackles) and Gilbey (endless running and harrying) are the perfect foil for him to play to his strengths (technical ability and creativity) while not having to unduly worry about maintaining defensive responsibilities. That has been his Achilles heel in previous seasons. Maybe we stumbled upon the system that gets the best out of him.4 -
His best point has been some of his set delivery’s but there are also corners that go straight off the pitch
He tries super hard and there are green shoots of recovery although I’m not seeing what others are but in all honesty I’m a football snob who won’t be tugging any of this worst footballing period in our history’s players off too much .

In terms of set pieces, its just nice seeing the first man being beaten
Imagine Albie's assist rate will go down soon as a result - Especially once the opposition realise that we can finally beat the first man again, and will have to take the whole corner routine a bit more seriously from us again1 -
We've missed out on a large number of potential goals with Lee's set pieces. Jacko knows it.6

I still don't seem him as the creative type e.g. Lee when he's on form. Personally if he is here next season I'd like to see the modified being made up of Fraser/Lee (or another) for the more advanced creative role. Gilbey/Morgan for the driving forward role and Dobson/potentially Clare for the holding role.0 -

There's a misconception that Gilbey is more of a finisher/goal threat than he actually is.
His career stats have seen him score 25 goals in 242 starts. That's a ratio of a goal approximately every 10 games.0 -

Nobody divides opinion on here more than Albie. For me he is a nice kid and yes he has done ok the last few games but he isnt good enough for a team that has ambition of getting promoted. The key to answering the Albie lovers is that they should ask themselves if they have ever been concerned that another club will come in for him ? The answer is no, infact if I remember correctly we have tried a few times to get him a loan but no takers. That speaks volumes imo. The market doesnt lie very often ( see Burstow) a young english player with potential would have constant rumours about a move if he was any good1

PWR the last 100 comments, but there was a moment late 2nd half where albie produced an outrageous bit of skill to skip past a defender in the area, then promptly miscontrolled it befire he could shoot and the ball ran out of play. This sums him up to a certain extent. We know he can do it, but it's a bit hit and miss sometimes. Having said that his corners have been excellent recently and a real improvement on Lee's. Overall I think he's been pretty good the last couple of games and deserves a run or at least to be involved in every squad.2

He's offered more than Lee has of late. That's a fact. But usually begins to tail off, so lets see how things move forward.1 -

No one has said he is the answer to getting promoted or anything like that, just that he’s put in some decent performances recently.7

My son has only recently been coming to matches with me, but commented yesterday "our No10 is everywhere and doesn't stop running"9

I am sure everyone on here has read Keith Peacock's autobiography. The chapter on Gavin is extremely interesting and relevant.
Albie is 22 now I have no idea what type of midfielder he is. One of his main strengths is his range of passing which is nullified by playing higher up the pitch.0 -
I agree. The 10 role didn't suit him and clearly looks better now, playing deeper2
-
If he can sort his tackling AND his positioning when out of possession, he would be two thirds of the way there... The remaining part, is his finishing. I don't think he'll ever be completely composed up top.0

Not sure I agree about his passing. He can sometimes play good incisive balls but equally he can misplace a 10 yarder.
All this time and we still can't agree about his best position or even best attributes, says a lot.2
