Yesterday’s demo was in the end very very successful in achieving its intended goals......PUBLICITY........PUBLICITY.......PUBLICITY..........and by the bucket full. For those idiots who are numbers freaks and still don’t get it. It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.......never a truer word spoken.
A good demo , it would have been nice to have had a few more but there were enough there to make it look decent. I think we have to accept there is a sizeable group , maybe 20% that are anti protest , Bernie and her followers that will happily go down with the sinking ship that is CAFC. The week has been great for anti Roland publicity so a big pat on the back for the CARD / ROT guys and gals

Precisely Mr £, it would not have mattered if there were another 1,000 there, the publcity raised this week by the fantastic efforts by all concerned should not be mocked, it should be applauded.
Quite frankly, the people that are still anti CARD and refuse to criticise Duchetelet deserve us to be relegated and folded up by Duchetelet.
They have not got a clue and cannot/refuse to see the bigger picture.
"I only go to see the football on a Saturday and not interested in what goes on off it" is a feeble retort to all the s*** that we are witnessing.
The point of yesterday wasn’t to deliver a knock out blow but to keep us in the media spot light, all those who discredit yesterday need to realise that.
You have all heard the phrase "Devide and Conquer" this is exactly what Duchatelet is doing, by keeping quite and telling us nothing about the supposed take over { is there really one} we start arguing amongst ourselves. In my opinion he is playing with us as he knows he has the upper hand , and with the league officials allowing him to do as he wishes and the betting companies Sky, and BT pouring money into the pot and dictating when and where games will be played with no thought to the fans.{Has anyone ever seen where all this money goes?} until matches are affected by ether not being completed or not being allowed to start, again in my opinion the League will do nothing. With all who run football in this country the supporter comes last. I also think for what its worth the manager is doing a brilliant job under the circumstances.

Re your final comment.
Bowyer will get a lot of slack because of what he did last season, coupled with his background.
To quote an old poster on here, "let's see where we are in December".
I am a member of the Charlton Athletic Unofficial and Uncensored Facebook Group and I cannot believe the idiotic comments made by people who just cannot see the bigger picture and who cannot wait to criticise anything done by CARD et al. I was tempted to make my first post on there, but some of them are so stupid it just isn't worth wasting words on them.
I am in awe of the imaginative protest campaigns by CARD, B20, ROT, WAR and others. I feel ashamed that I have contributed very little in the last 4 years and couldn't go yesterday due to a family get together arranged some time ago, but thank all those who have given up their time and spent their own money to get rid of Duchatelet.
The publicity gained is priceless and each action will hopefully chip away at this odious regime which has brought a great club to its knees. Over the years we had season tickets and used the club's hospitality, we met some wonderful staff, who always seemed to go the extra mile to look after us. The current treatment is totally inexcusable and they certainly do not deserve the way Duchatelet is acting. For senior managers to leave more junior staff to run the club yesterday is unbelievable.
Hopefully the end of this regime is getting just that bit nearer due to the actions of some wonderful fans.
I wasn't there yesterday as I'd already made other plans. I guess, that's always going to be a problem with those not attending anymore - we aren't sitting around waiting waiting for a protest call, we're busy getting on with other things.
When I got home in the evening, my eldest was there and the first thing he said was, 'did you hear about what happened at Charlton'? He then told me excitedly about the crisp packet protest. It's the first time this season I known anyone get excited about anything happening at Charlton, so well done CARD and everyone who joined in. Special kudos to those who made the journey solely to protest. That is something special.

I wasn't there yesterday so could someone say if they had increased the security etc? If they did, surely the outcome is even better as RD paid out extra money for something that didn't happen as they were expecting. Now, if that happened a couple more times, one day, they wouldn't bother and that's the time to strike.

I 100% agree ME14addick. Like many others, unfortunately, I couldn't make yesterday' protest due to a longstanding commitment, however, I feel so proud of the efforts of CARD, ROT, B20, WAR and the Trust. Whenever I have attended/helped at events they plan, I marvel at the dedication of so many people.. Let's not forget, the Charlton supporters' protest organisations and campaigns are the envy of other supporters' groups! Many have utilised the talents behind our 'machine' to help their own causes. How many other fans have a protest fund that appeared like ours did? How many can galvanise and utilise the media like ours has? Charlton was once the envy of other clubs as a model of how to run things, now, I feel it is the protest campaign that is their envy not the club. Roland OUT!
Were the mascots on strike today? Also saw on twitter that the club may have reneged on a gift for kids with season tickets. Not sure if that’s true or not.
Not true, my Grandson was given a Charlton football
Mini footballs. Which they have run out of.
They were meant to get goodie bags but these ‘have not materialised’
Not sure what time they had run out for you, but we collected his at 2.15 and they had just come down with a very large box full of them.

Essex Al, what is your view of RD now ? I'm not trying to provoke an argument, but am under the impression that you are/were broadly supportive ? If I'm wrong then I apologise in advance.
He does not have a view on Duchatelet, he just "goes to support the team".

He does not have a view on Duchatelet, he just "goes to support the team".
But he sure has a view on the protests.
My view of RD is that he should have sold the club by now even if he has to drop the price, the club is suffering from lack of investment and cut backs whilst he seeks a buyer.
In saying that, I do have a fear of who we may be sold to and the Australian consortium fills me with dread! I still read every post on the takeover thread though!
Elfs is correct, nothing will stop me supporting the team although prostate cancer surgery made me miss the first game of the season grrrr!
As I have often said, owners come and go, good and bad, but the team is the only consideration for me. People protesting and calling for boycotts will never change my mind and I would imagine it wouldn't change the minds of the hard core 5,000 or so that are left.
I was amazed yesterday at the amount of people voicing their disproval of the protest, sadly the fan base is split with arguments and worse are breaking out.
I realise that people worked hard, gave up their time, and are passionate to get RD out, but quite frankly, I found yesterday's protest an embarrassment. The rest of the football world must have laughed at us trying to throw a few packets of crisps on the pitch!
I realise my views don't fit the agenda of the majority on here, but Covered End asked for them!
You make some fair points but not when you say the 5,000 left are the hardcore.
You personally know hardcore fans who have decided to boycott.
Also many of those who still attend are very pro - the protests, I know the people I go with all are.
The protest yesterday was a huge success, some people will complain no matter what is done.
Either it's too much, too little, "embarrassing" (whatever that means), the wrong people are involved, previous protests didnt build Rome in a day so there is no point or everything is fine.

Good luck with you battle with prostate cancer @Essex_Al thats an awful thing to go through, I couldnt imagine how strong you and your family have to be.
Despite the disagreements among supporters I dont believe any want Roland In, we can all see how the club is suffering under his drawn out tenure here.
It comes down to doing something rather than nothing for many of us who protest and thats not digging out those that dont.
I was involved yesterday and given that we had 72 hours notice/planning the media coverage (a huge huge reason to do it) was the envy of many. With gates the size we get its difficult to expect too much more sadly.
With regards to the rest of the football world being embarrassed for us/on our behalf, I believe your just wrong, entitled an opinion that differs from many, but just wrong.
Direct messages from Newcastle, Millwall, Blackpool and Coventry supporters groups back that up.
With protests at home and RoT overseas the pressure on Duchatalet continues, of the 5,000 'hardcore' yesterday the Roland Out chants showed that we have reason to carry on. As soon as I hear a Roland In song I and many more would probably give up.
Up the Addicks and lets hope we can all focus purely on on-field matters.

Standing up for what I believe is the right, nay one of the ONLY ways to rid our beloved club of this wrong 'un, has caused me some grief today ( see my post on the "Crisps" thread)
I was shaken, albeit not stirred, by some comments on Facebook, but will continue to step up to the plate when asked to do so until the light, currently flickering spasmodically at the end of the tunnel, shines strongly in our faces.

Thanks for replying & I hope you're well.
I find it peculiar that you say the rest of the football world must have been laughing at us. You say you read the threads. There has been nothing but positive comments from all the press and TV and from Millwall fans. Jim White even came down. I'd be interested where you've read about the rest of the football world laughing, when all I've seen is the rest of the football world applauding. Perhaps you could provide a link to what you've read ? Thanks.

Posts like the above put things into perspective.
@Essex_Al and me have very differing views(particularly behind a keyboard) about all that has gone over the past few years, but I know Alan personally and he is a spot on fella.
Funny Essex, I had Newcastle, Cardiff, Gooners, Spuds & even non football supporting friends contacting me this morning congratulating me on the ingenious protests that resulted in more publicity to rid us of our idiot owner.
Which really cheered me up after I felt like I spent most of yesterday trying to stop fellow Addicks from slagging each other off.
As for Debbie's comments, oh my word.
Well done to all involved yesterday. I'm proud of every single one of you.
he will only sell when it suits him. Thought 2day was another embarrassment. When the debt gets too much he will sell the ground.
What did you do that made you feel you'd embarrassed yourself?
Bore off
Been a member since 2012
Hasnt made a comment since 2017
And yet u have decided to call today an embarrasment.
What have you done for the cause
You happy to see the club slip into oblivion.
If not then stand up and be fucking counted instead of bitching about people who are trying
Was today a success then?
Course I’m not happy at the state of the club but what did today achieve?
He will only sell the club when it suits him unfortunately and my fear is it once there is nothing left to sell then it will be the ground to get his money back.
What did today achieve.
Exactly what it was supposed to stories on BBC Sky Sports The Sun Plus others Tweets from famous people including linekar Trending on twitter
We have had more media coverage today then at any other point in Roland Reign
We achieved what we set out to
Gotta tell you. I'm liking this new, re-invigorated Paulie. Some excellent posts of late. Long may it continue Paulie.
Yesterday's modest launching of snacks, together with the pre-match protest, might be considered trivial, but the renewed anger of the past few days and the subsequent explosion of publicity - segments on TV and whole articles, not just the odd paragraph - have served as a reminder to the outside world that our appalling owner is still here but so too are we, frustrated but undaunted, and we'll be here long after he has slithered off.
It remains a matter of pride that in the long course of the multifaceted protests to date there has been minimal, if indeed any, damage to our beloved stadium, minimal if any injuries, and minimal arrests. The only real embarrassment as a club has been the regime's heavy-handed treatment of a number of fans, as instigated by TK Snaxx and his sorry crew.
Hopefully this weekend's combination of car park protest, crisp bags and ROT's mission to Sint-Truiden will have given RD a hefty push in the direction of the exit, his very own f*** off tablet.

For those idiots who are numbers freaks and still don’t get it.
It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.......never a truer word spoken.

Never going to have a knock out blow without breaking Queensberry rules.

That's life, some people do and others snipe.
you and your family have to be.
With regards to the rest of the football world
being embarrassed for us/on our behalf, I believe your just wrong, entitled an opinion that differs from many, but just wrong.
To do otherwise is not an option.
Thanks.
@Essex_Al and me have very differing views(particularly behind a keyboard) about all that has gone over the past few years, but I know Alan personally and he is a spot on fella.
Which really cheered me up after I felt like I spent most of yesterday trying to stop fellow Addicks from slagging each other off.
As for Debbie's comments, oh my word.
Well done to all involved yesterday. I'm proud of every single one of you.
