Very good news because it will embarrass Duchatelet. Given that there are no senior Executives it will have to be either Murray or Duchâtelet. Can’t see the old goat making the effort so Muzza to soft soap that all is under control. Hope the Trust are at the same meeting to offer balance and some truth.
I tweeted that even if nothing can be done in the current rules, perhaps this will force them to put in place penalties for incompetent owners to be used moving forward
Not sure of the legalities, but as I understand they are the governing body there to act in the interests of their members. It’s in all their members’ interests not to have a Duchatelet take over
This, along with Blackpool, Orient and Cov should hopefully force them to think of some relevant safeguards
What a load of shit. We’ve hit a few papers lately and the EFL feel like they need to say something. Nothing will happen and we will still be in the shit.
"Following a number of discussions dating back a number of weeks, the EFL plans to meet with both Charlton Athletic and the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust to gain a full understanding of the current situation that surrounds the Club."
One question for the Football League: what the bloody hell have you been doing for the last four and a half years not to have an "understanding" of what's happening?
Lots of words, not much action. Ask Blackpool fans how the Football League have dealt with their clusterfcuk of an owner.
Although you could bet your life if we paid our bonuses in burgers they'd be on it like a ton of bricks.
Final paragraph regarding Operational matters blah, blah, blah.......Err 'Executive Teams' ? Bog standard cop out phrase LOLs, especially as it doesn't apply to us, because we've only got Burger Boy and he's off on his holidays now!

Not a chance.
As long as clubs play their fixtures and pay the League their dues they couldn't give a stuff how the clubs are being run.

Very sad if that’s the attitude they want to continue to take given so many examples of bad owners. I’m not expecting anything but this can happen to any club. If we had the will power and fight from fans of 72 clubs that would be something we could use for good.
Unlikely but I’ve been really impressed with how we’ve all mobilised our anger and got the results we’ve had in the last few days since this latest farce. No one thing alone will change the situation, but I’ve loved every single thing I’ve seen from CARD, ROT and various tweets and actions from individuals over the last few days. Reminds me why we’re a great club with top fans and can’t wait till Roland crumbles. And he will

my thoughts exactly. They will no doubt speak to the club who say they need to make cutbacks because of the financial nature of football and they will go along on their way satisfied.
Never seen this kind of press release before from the EFL.
We've started putting pressure on them both directly and indirectly and they've acted. I'm pleased, not least because their 'investigation' will include CAST.
Happy to wait and see what actions they take following on from the meeting.
Maximum disruption needed tomorrow. Now that we are back in the news we have got to try and stay there and cause as much embarrassment to Roland as possible.

In a masochistic way we're lucky.
We had the experience of Sellout Park and the Back To The Valley campaign to draw from throughout the Roland Years; we've got many creative fans who have produced some wonderful posters, videos to publicise the cause; fans who are prepared to dig deep into their pockets for a variety of protests and demonstrations both at home and in Belgium.
Not every club with a crap owner is as lucky as us to have that breed of fan.

Dushitelet and the club will come out with cobblers.
I want the EFL to tell us what the situation is regards the deal.
Well, I for one am delighted, even if that is very much a ‘cover your arse’ letter. Something is being done at long long last and The EFL will at least get to know much of what has taken place over the last four+ years and they just ‘might’ be encouraged to put a squib up Duchatalet’s arse. I honestly think that if they feel they can, then they will....and quite happily. Whether or not that will include indicating to him that he needs to be more realistic in his asking price and putting an end to this unquestionable tragedy remains to be seen. Maybe even breaking new ground for them and encouraging them to be more pro active in future ......we can only live in hope. They may even consider ‘officially’ changing their mandate and giving themselves more powers to govern, with greater ability to take control of situations such as those we now find ourselves in. Even if it’s too late for us, it may herald a new era for The EFL to find a pair and man up to some of these arseholes that are contaminating our beloved game. Will Goldfinger consider attending ......my guess is no.
Perhaps the EFL should talk to the Aussies as well, if they intend to takeover the club, after all this time with no further statements, are they the right people to own this club. I cannot believe it should have taken this long if they were really serious and had the funds to do it. Live in hope
They will probably do nothing but the mere fact they have responded and intend to meet RD and CAST is quite significant and keeps the media interested and the pressure on.

It seems to me that the only basis for such a meeting is that statements on the club website regarding EFL, conflict with the facts as they know them in some way, and they want CAST to update the press rather than make an unprecedented Press Release themselves. No doubt they will kick off about the confidentuality of the meeting knowing full well it will be leaked.
Doubt there is an EFL rule about one of the 72 lying to the press.
Who gives two shits what the EFL are putting out there these self serving fucktards left us under the spivs and this senile old wankstain it’s a deflection on their own failures fuck the EFL

Absolutely. As an example hard on the heels of the Trust letter they see that "EFL Unfit for Purpose" banner unfurled at Accrington, hats off to your good self and @SoundAsa£ for that.
That said, it would be wise to keep our expectations modest about the outcome of this meeting. Remember that they have already had meetings with Blackpool Trust, and so useless were they in BST's eyes that they have gone to the Ombudsman to complain. @Chris_from_Sidcup question hangs in the air. The CEO of the EFL is a long time personal friend of Karl Oyston.
The most important thing to remember is that the official remit of the EFL has no obligation whatsoever to consider the interests of fans in any way, and once an ODT is completed, the EFL considers owners free to do what the hell they like, so long as they complete the fixtures. That is what we are up against.
And yet, and yet. The public battering they have had, admirably led by Blackpool, clearly has had some impact. And BST directed us to John Nagle, whom they consider to be a decent guy. Furthermore about a week ago the Football Ombudsman met with the EFL to discuss, on behalf of BST, their approach to Blackpool. and the Ombudsman knows we are coming down the same track next.
Generally nothing much can be expected of the EFL until its remit is changed (probably by outside forces) to build a Code of Practice for owners, with sanctions for infringement. However, I have always thought that they would be massively unimpressed if it turned out that the club had taken their name in vain in respect of the Aussies and the ODT, and it looks like this might have tipped them over the edge.
We need to keep up multi-pronged pressure on the EFL. Keep those emails going...

Useless tossers.
Get some teeth and sort yourselves out ffs!

Get Rick Everitt solely representing the Trust and rip the shit out of Murray or whatever other prick decides to come along.

Yes.
Then what makes us think the EFL will do anything about RD?
