  • With no crowd noise you can hear every tuneful note of the national anthem from the players.

I think they will struggle to make judges houses tbh
  • Going into a tournament, when we do next summer, the attacking options we have are frightening really. Kane, Sterling, Rashford, Sancho, Calvert-Lewin, Grealish, Foden, plus whoever else too. It’s the defence, central midfield, and please not Pickford in goal which could really let us down.

I’d have Pope in goal, sort out the defence somehow. If all fit, it’d have to be TAA, Gomez, Maguire, Chilwell. Midfield 3 of Henderson, Foden, and one other, Rice needs a big season in my opinion. Front 3, we have a wealth of options, but it has to include Sterling and Kane either way.

The starting eleven probably won’t be an issue if Southgate gets it right. It’s the depth when you take away certain players.

Id have Reece James ahead of Alexander-Arnold in the big games

Right back is not an issue at all, to have 4 of them in the squad shows that really. James has done well, but personally I would preferably have TAA. Even if it’s his relationship with Gomez and Henderson, and his crossing and dead ball ability.

2 DMs and conceding like that. It’s rubbish.
  • Dier fuck off
  • Unlucky, good football
  • I’d rather drop Rice for Foden, or even drop Mount in there and play Sancho further up

this is still nothing like our best team
  • Kane done well to get that on target. Good defending from Lukaku
  • Look good going forward, poxy defence

  • How dire is Dier?
  • This has been coming. We could get done by 5/6 here.
  • How’s that a foul. This is a joke.
  • Sack Southgate, he's an awful manager and had a lucky World Cup.

Sticking 5 at the back with defensive midfielders and still conceding goals way too easily.
  • It was never a foul. How high did Dier ger off the ground though to block the free kick?
  • Our back five are incapable of passing to a white shirt!
  • The worrying thing is, this’ll be how we line up against any side Southgate sees as better than us.

I know we’re missing players but this system has to get in the bin.

what KDB did is what Walker had a penalty given against him for in the Denmark game, it was a foul the other way if anything

New Manager suddenly doesnt suddenly give us better players though does it... The defence at the moment is a shambles
  • Dier can’t do anything right, him and Rice are really pissing me off.

  • Sancho isn’t fit enough to play 2 games in 4 days.

That back 3 definitely needs protecting, especially against KDB and Lukaku. Think Southgate has probably called this correctly, although time will tell.
The problem is he's so fixated on a back 5 it's going to become a problem at the Euro's. Most of this side play 433 for their club sides, in fact there aren't many top club sides who don't play it. So why persist with a back 5 to the point where you're even playing a right back at centre back?

We have so many good attacking players and we're leaving them out just to be negative. There aren't many other sides who'd leave out Foden and Sancho, and we can't even argue that it's working because the defence is utter shit regardless.

You know what makes a defense better? Decent coaching.

This team doesn't look like they've trained together at all.

Yeah how does Southgate do that when he barely sees the players?

Surely its on the club Managers to make the players better?

Mount is so wasted on the right of a 3. Much better when he plays centrally, like against Ireland.

Thing is, we’ve had the better chances!

  • Any other team in Europe would not leave players of the calibre of Sancho and Foden on the bench if they had them to call upon
  • Problem is, you play Sancho, Foden, Grealish, Kane etc and you’ve got nobody to try and protect shit like Dier, you’ll be more than 2-0 down to sides like Belgium.
  • Foden for Rice at HT is needed.

Why do worse international teams with 'worse' players end up looking better drilled than we do?

Wasn’t Denmark our first defeat in 22 games?

Exactly hence why Southgate protects the defence so much at the moment... Reckon we'd just have Henderson in front of the back four if we had the defence from the "Golden Generation"

As it is we've made steps forward with attacking players but we've massively gone backwards with defence minded players

Means Southgate is wary of that fact so if he goes too attacking then he leaves the back horribly exposed and he'll no doubt have fans questioning why we're conceding so many - In effect we'll do a Peterborough at this level, we'll look great and score loads but we'll concede too many at the same time which still wont trouble the bigger teams
