And he still insisted it was a good deal!
I think it was his continuing belief in the boardroom that it was a good deal which sealed his fate as it showed he hadn't a clue about what profit means

If he had admitted he had screwed up, then at least it would have shown that he actually knew what profit was

You work out what you have to do and how before you quote - that is basic and was very poor. But worse was agreeing a deal for over £2k then trying to get the cheapest plants and not getting enough of those was a complete joke. Then taking himself out of the impossible task of making it work was cowardice from the PM. He probably should have gone too, but then there would only be one guy left.

My 130 was a quarter of our profit.

No you twerp, that deal lost 300 quid you can’t count it as a profit.

It's like when my wife insists buying something she doesn't need in the sale represents money made.

Agree with the comments re Kayode if you cannot do the simple calculation of what your costs are and then place some margin on top then you are never going to run a business successfully. In many ways he encapsulates everything The Apprentice is about, keep talking because if you don't you may get found out. Mind you the project manager Tom hardly covered himself in glory either, I don't agree with the idea that buying cheap is the best strategy, he would have been better fulfilling what the customer really was looking for even if it costs a few quid more, the trouble was he never bothered to ask her. Fact is he quoted £2100 for the job, which was also a nonsense because they were never going to get that bench prepared and painted in a morning, and eventually got paid £400. He would have been better off buying more plants, making the customer happy and getting more for the job......Knob of the first order.

I would piss the tasks except I dont like pitching. Can pay people to do that in real life.

My business proposal is The City Chippy

In the Liverpool Street / bishopsgate area.
Downstairs - usual tradition chip shop. Take away and tables in back. Sadly lacking In the area at present.

Upstairs - high class fish restaurant for the business lunches/ dinners.

From a personal survival point of view, if his team had narrowly lost but he personally had done a good job with the big client and they were very happy, LS would have moaned about cost control and profitability but probably sacked someone else from amongst the deadwood, as there's plenty of that on both sides.

But previous tasks have rewarded teams who made money even though their customers would never buy from them again in the real world. Maybe because it is similar to the way Lord Sugar has always operated.

I swear they are thinking mainly of the business plans... She must have a good one.

Daniel is funny. At least he realises he is a completely useless bullshit artist. More self awareness than most of the others

They should have told the speaker man to shove off.

    I liked that episode.

I remember an art one a few series ago when Alan sugar said "I know nuffing about art, I'd just chose the one with the most variety". I'd have picked that abstract art as well for that reason. It's all about volume, not relying on some hipsters to buy half a duck.

Alan sugar has exactly the same voice as my father in law, which is terrifying.

Impressed with Daniel in that task, he was bullshitting but what he said was pretty convincing and actually described the "meaning" of the art pretty well!

Would have sacked the fella, he isn’t up to it and has been consistently poor to average at best.

He got away with it because he's one of only two blokes left. Had to keep him for a bit of balance.

What a beautiful, sunny city it was filmed in!
I was surprised when I visited Glasgow, parts are surprisingly middle class as proven by the people buying art tonight!

I didn’t get this I went up for the England game and spent majority of the weekend in sauchiehall street and the Bristol bar - certainly not middle class!

I think he has stayed because Sugar likes him.

No histrionics or shouting, always trying to explain things in a reasoned voice ... which is unusual ... especially in this series.

    Brilliant city Glasgow.

Think Tom is a good bloke but it will be the Canadian lady or Camilla that are front runners. Am surprised how the tennis coach is still there which makes me think she perhaps has a good proposal and is in with a shout.

Yeah I can see this too, I think he's made a conscious decision to stay as reasoned and rational as he can and he will crack surrpunded by some of these morons, it will be spectacular when he does go. All the pent up reaction will end up looking like a firework display

And Alan Sugar likes his tennis

Karen likes Sabrina as well, probabky sees something of herself in her (this assumes Karen still thinks she's a pretty 20 year old, an assumption I find highly likely)

Most people seem to refer to their attitude and characteristics when they say such things and not their current physical attributes. What makes you find your assumption highly likely? She's a smart woman and is almost guaranteed to not see herself as a 20 year old. Instead she probably sees Sabrina's drive, determination and business plan to be in line with where she WAS aged 20.

Just a thought as i've never seen anything of Brady to suggest she believes she's a 20 year old, quite the opposite... Solid businesswoman that shits on the businesswoman that we had until relatively recently.

She's made some clever moves, but by being aligned to shithouses like the Golds and Grotman scat she has built up a contact book and taken every opportunity to be in front of a camera or to gob off in a radio microphone. She has not done anything remotely entrepreneurial, she comes from a wealthy background, has had the benefit of a good education and the safety of knowing a rich father could support her.

I appreciate she is intelligent which is the benefit of a decent education but she has been the underling of actual entrepreneurs her whole working life. Sullivan, David and Ralph Gold and now Alan Sugar.

There are many, many far more qualified and genuine female entrepreneurs in the UK that it frustrates the shit out of me that Karen Brady is held up a the matriach of successful women when all she has sone is sniff the right pants and align herself well. Mainly to pornographers and people who buy high volume shite and sell it on

Yes, her background is pretty corporate really, albeit at the more entrepreneurial/sleazy end of the corporate scale, when you consider her long association with the porn pedlers and being on the board of Philip Green's parent company.
