    RIP Darren
  • Very Sad news indeed - Blackburn away midweek stuck up high in the stadium miles from the action was a great night because of Darren's goal - I can still see it in my mind today and how it made me feel when the final whistle went.
He was a good player, always committed, gave everything for the shirt , especially that night.

    Very sad. RIP Darren.
  • Such tragic news RIP Pitch....I might be wrong but did we get David Whyte as part of the deal when he went to palace...2 of our greats gone too soon

Sometimes the most insignificant games spring to mind. We played Sunderland in midweek and it finished it 0-0.
The pitch was covered in snow, ice and was bone hard.He tackled everything and anything that night when no one else seemed to fancy it. Hard as nails. RIP Darren.

Absolutely gutted about this . Darren played in the first game I saw and gave lots of good memories, particularly in our FA Cup run in 1994. RIP , Darren; condolences to his family
  • Its times like this when Steve Browns comment hits home - life is so short, make the most of what you have, RIP Darren, you were one of my heroes.

Very sad, will always remember Blackburn away in the cup, seemed like a game that would never end after he scored but a very memorable victory.

Played for the club during my ‘black out’ period when living in the USA where there was no internet or footie on TV over here. Know the name. Very sad and way too young. RIP Darren

  • RIP Darren, far too young, such a tragedy.
  • R.I.P Darren I remember that goal at Blackburn and the back pass at Palace
  • Remember him as a Center Half in the youth team but not tall enough to make it there so moved to full back where he was OK but when he moved to midfield he found his place. Shocked and saddened to hear this
    RIP Darren
  • Such sad news. As a lot of people have already said, gave me one of the best memories scoring that goal at Blackburn. What a night, what a tough tackler and a good person.
RIP Pitch thanks for the memories.
