I think we could have easily replaced him, we just didn't.
Can you name a single player we could have signed for 1.5m?
Which highlights the fact that we sold him much too cheaply.
Unless he was demanding the move, we shouldn't have been selling him at all, we're not going up without him.
I can't see that Grant would've been too happy if his move had been denied. It was possibly already starting to show a bit in his last couple of performances (Accrington....good penalty but a dreadful miss from two yards, Peterborough...awful penalty). He may have knuckled down and got on with it but after the Scott Parker episode, I'm sceptical about the desire of young players once they've been told "their dreams" are on hold.
Given the events of this week I dont blame Karlan for getting out of the club at the first opportunity whilst Roland is at the helm and steering straight towards the Iceberg

Its obvious why Page signed a new contract yet I think we need to be concerned as the mental stability of Dillon and George for signing new Contracts themselves

From what I've read on here many suggested he's not at all similar to Grant though.
I'd say he was a Kevin Davies | Duncan Ferguson type Striker
So not a Grant replacement at all, the reality is pace is an expensive trait and Grant was never going to be easy to replace.
You can't look for an exact replica. My contention is we could find somebody with different qualities. The issue we have had recently, is getting goals in the team. Karlan did well in that respect this season, but he is not the best of finishers. My contention is finding a better finisher would not have been too hard, although we didn't manage it!
Our team was built around a certain system, Grants pace was a key to opening  up defences, so I don't believe Grant could have been replaced with any goal scorer.
Teams are built around the players you have and if you lose some attributes you may bring in a player with different attributes rather than look for one with exactly the same ones. I don't think the team was built around Grant, although nobody can deny he has done well this season and formed a good partnership with Taylor. If people are saying Grant is a Premiership striker, well we will just have to disagree.
I'm not saying he's premiership level, yet, I'm saying he was impossible for us to replace in a Jan window with our current owner.

It’s certainly going to be harder :-(

Quick question: If we got to play off final would you be able  come over for the match?
    Without a doubt.

Taylor is the one who needs to up his game now. Plenty of effort but needs to start scoring a few.

3 goals in his last 13 league games (including one pen). That's a Josh Magennis strike-rate.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me who this easy to find replacement is.

Fair play to him he now has two goals in the prem.

Do think he was trying to stick that other side of the keeper though.

Lol, weird. What is there to disagree about? He's playing up front for a Premiership team, so that makes him a Premiership striker. That's an undeniable fact.

You're disagreeing with someone who believes they know more than international managers, I don't think you're going to get too far here.

Good goal too according to SSN

Glad we replaced him so easily and proves he only got those goals for us because of Taylor.

He's only going to be at Huddersfield for six months if he keeps going.

10m plus in the summer, someone like Everton or West Ham would pay it.

MIGHT even get in the England U21 team for the Euros if he scores enough - Its not like we have any other kids that age scoring in the Premier League other than Rashford
  • I can see it now. He'll do really for Huddersfield, score a bundle in the championship next season, get called up for England U21s and end up getting sold for about 15m+
    It's going to happen.

Thank you Roland for allowing me the privilege of watching a premier league striker.

Huddersfield might regret doing that as its now 3-2
