Great win, brilliant football at times and a well deserved win.

If Bielik hadn’t gone off I’m sure he would have been MoM. He ran the show, but Aribo took over and totally bossed it. Special mention for Igor who had a shaky start picking up where he left off last week, finding it difficult to hold up the ball. He got better as the game went on and was linking play well. Perhaps he is nearly back to full fitness. Hope so.

We played well today apart from lack of concentration for their goal. Cullen, Bielik and Aribo were huge in midfield. Sarr and Bauer were solid as usual. Best game for Lyle Taylor since he came back from his suspension. I don't think Vetokele is the answer. Not a patch on the player who came to us back in the day. His positional play seems to have escaped him. Reeves made a difference when he came on.

A really good result which we thoroughly deserved. Automatics here we come.  :)   COYR!!

Great game, great result .... perfect
  • Brilliant performance from the start to the very end. Everyone played their part and stood up to a very physical team.

    MOTM was Cullen.

Lee Bowyer will not allow us to bottle big matches.

    Well played lads.

Good to do the double against a team who've been above us in the table all season.

Most one sided match since the Man City v Burton Cup tie.

That was a really strong Championship performance.

Purrington may have been outjumped for their goal but I think he made a great last-minute block?

Also, how much would it cost the EFL to professionalise referees? They should all be that good

No. That was Bauer I think
  • I'd guess that has to be up there as one of our best performances of the season. If we played like that every week, we'd be challenging Luton for the title.

Superb win and a nice gap to 7th place now.

4th place has to be the target now for us, so we get the play off 2nd leg at home.

There were two good blocks at the end. First was Bauer, then Purr straight after.

My internet decided to sh*t itself at kick off and I feared the worst, thankfully a re boot meant I only missed the first couple of minutes. What a great game. We were so strong all over the park. Midfield bossed it. Aribo is class. Cullen a terrier. Happy Taylor got his goal, that’ll do the lad wonders. We should of won by more, but Charlton being Charlton we were hanging on a bit the last 10 minutes. A superb block by BFG at the death.

We do do play at a great tempo, we kept that up all game which was pleasing, and we battle hard, very hard.
Its 3:45am and I should get my head down but I’m buzzing!! Well in Charlton, we’ll in!!

Impressive first-half for a change! Followed by our usual strong second-half performance. Just need to find our scoring boots now to finish off the season with a strong chance of winning promotion through the Playoffs.
  • A classy performance from charlton, Igor aside who I thought could have put more of a shift in. Come on Igor, you know you are miles better than that. 10 points behind 2nd placed Barnsley and 10 games to catch them. Definitely doable. Come on you Addicks.

We were class, the goal flattered Pompey.

Superb performance. Every single player on that pitch was oozing confidence on the ball. From Purrington to Sarr to Cullen and Aribo all the way through the team every player wanted the ball and knew what they wanted to do with it. Pompey conversely played like a L1 team, spaffing long balls out of play and not knowing what they wanted to do until Pitman came on. I don't think I've seen a Charlton team look so comfortable with the ball in years. That gulf in class meant we controlled the midfield completely and we were completely dominant. Frustratingly that didn't turn into a lot of clear-cut chances, which meant there was always a chance Pompey could peg us back. If we can take a performance like that and carve out more chances we will be laughing to the end of the season. Igor looks like he's starting to get fitter and hopefully soon that will translate into some performances of old. You can tell how rusty he is from his passing.

Let's pray Bielik was only taken off as a precaution as the boy looked a class above today

Agree. Best ref performance I’ve seen in a very long time.

3rd or 4th place would be nice.

Fantastic performance from us, the best for some time.
Their football was poor and horrible, hate to watch that every week!
many good performances and good to see Igor do well ( the block aside ! ).

My only concern if we do get them in the playoffs is they will have learnt more in the 2 games losing than we did. Pitman starting would have caused us more problems imo. That said, we did look a class apart today and I’m confident enough they won’t bridge that gap if we play anywhere near the same level over two ties.

What an atmosphere throughout the game and outside the ground afterwards, reminds me of the good old days

We played them off the park. No one had a bad game for us. Taylor one game away from avoiding another ban. And if we meet them in the play offs I’m confident we’ll beat them. EEEEIIIIIIEEEEEIIIIEEEEIIIIIOOOOO

Fair play to the Sky presenter post-game, kept the focus on lack of sale and amount of players out of contract
Yes that was nice and unexpected.
I got the feeling they think our owner is an idiot for doing nothing with the contracts
