Fantastic Win !  I LOVE THIS CLUB!   Sorry i had a beer or 4!
  • Cracking day out.
Everyone played their hearts out, midfield were immense, especially Cullen and Aribo. Sarr and BFG strong at the back.
We made a decent Pompey side look distinctly second best for pretty much the whole game.
Best I've seen us play all season.
Whoever earlier who said the North was quiet today should probably have turned up the volume on their TV, it was an amazing atmosphere for 90 minutes.

Fantastic fantastic performance today played them off the park.

sadly let down by the club, in a box and surrounded by Pompey supporters, high on drugs and alcohol nothing done until it started to get nasty.

Simply cannot believe how our useless sales team allow two boxes either side of us to be sold to Pompey scum and then so called security leave then there until it got nasty.

12 year old frightened and nobody at the club gives a toss.

we employ arseholes at our club, somebody's head needs to roll.

@Hartleypete I asked for it to be raised at the last Fans Forum (which it was) after the mob that were in there last season.

Was told they were going to be particularly attentive about it this time... Righto  :-)

Couldn't believe my eyes or ears today. The commentators could have been describing 1982 Brazil at times.

I got the impression that they were happy that they managed to sell more tickets without giving a toss about home fans safety. Something I am sure they won't hear the last of!

2 wins from 2, with Bowyer sitting in the stand.
    Coincidence ?

We will probably be commentating it again soon on page 1982 of the takeover thread...

Great game. Rare Valley visit today but so glad I went. Pompey fans were very vocal but covered end also sounded good. Thought Dijksteel had a good game but Aribo, Bielik and Cullen were the stars, with Williams and Taylor not far behind. No-one played poorly. We were well knackered in the last 15 minutes but then Taylor got stuck in. He played like a demon! Amazing.

As good as they are, 2 positions where we have cover. Cullen can slot into the base of the diamond with Reeves coming in to play with Aribo (just like today). And Fosu can replace Jonny at the tip of the diamond
  • Prefer to see Reeves tip of diamond, after all that's what Gobbo bought him for and Fosu is better wide.

Fantastic performance by everyone. Just a shade worrying we still may not have won near the end despite being by far the superior side.
My Pompey mate hopes they avoid us in the play offs and then get beaten as he cant see them beating us! Physcological advantage over them!
Jackett used to have the curse over us but don't forget that Bowyer played in the last Charlton side to beat Millwall (I think)

Cullen superb and edges MoM for his shear gritty determination.
Vetokele seems to be off the pace physically and mentally.
I wish Naby wouldn't dwell on the ball when we're under pressure. Does my nerves no good at all.

If only we still had Grant.

And why on God’s green earth should we trust Robinson’s assessment of a player over Bowyer’s?

Fair play to Sarr; he’s turned himself into the player he should always have been.  I’ve been a huge critic in the past, justifiably, but he’s now looking an excellent centre half.  The casual moments are becoming far more rare and he’s added an aggression in the air.

Watched on TV, what a bloody performance!!! Not one of our squad let us down, no one played poorly and apart from the opening 10 minutes where Pompey started faster they didn't really have a look in, despite their equaliser, which was a bullet header. I'll mention a couple of names that stood out for me - Aribo, Cullen, Belik, Baur, Wiliams. Like I said the whole team played well, but the 5 I've mentioned I thought were outstanding. The covered end (sorry I'm old school) came over loud and proud on the TV, the atmosphere sounded rocking!!! Play-offs nearly nailed on I think.....just need RD to bugger off and this could be one hell of a season!!! Hope to get down to The Valley before the end of the season.

Woke woke up still buzzing. We played some cracking football in possession yesterday.

Little shout out for Djiksteel, who I think had improved a lot since his last few outings, and also thought Purrington gave us good balance wide on the left.

Any idea as to the real vs the paid attendance?

    I really don’t care mate.

Those there had a cracker and got behind the team superbly. Ground was buzzing. Superb

Everyone around me at East Stand halfway line was singing along and cheering and clapping and roaring - poor turn out in both East and West stands but more noise from them than I can recall in recent years - fantastic atmosphere which the players created by their superb performance and effort - really threw themselves on the line and Lyle’s sixty yard diagonal run near the end to defend and his amazing block and further tackles summed up the desire to win.

Excellent game, excellent performance and a great one for on watching investors too !!

Not much more I can add to what's been said before, except not sure why the ref is getting so many plaudits, unless he was being rated against the dross that we have had before. Can someone explain to me why Lyle was adjudged to have committed a foul when he had the ball in the corner and was making himself "big and awkward" ? Thought the ref gave Pompey loads of soft fouls across the pitch.

Policing at the top of Floyd Road was ridiculous both before and after the match, particularly poor. Are we the only club in the land that offer visiting fans, when they arrive in numbers, the run of the place ? Funnily enough, Alan Curbishley and Mervyn Day where held back in amongst the fans before the game. Strange that if he was visiting the game that he wasn't afforded a parking space in the club car park ? Another typical bit of Roland wisdom ?

No passengers yesterday! They were all immense but Aribo and Bielik are going to go a long long way in this game! Absolute cut above!

I don’t know what else the OB can do, but it’s a bit odd to segregate fans up Floyd Road and then make Charlton fans who want to go up the hill cut accross visiting fans at the top. Was all a bit lively after the game (as per last season with them).

what a game though. Like AFKA, I’ve woken up still buzzing.

For those having a pop at Vetokele, it was his excellent channel run and hold up play that lead to the winning goal - if he doesn’t make that run then we draw 1-1.
Another occasion Igor ran inside and drew the defender allowing Lyle to run into the space behind him he’d created.
i said to my lad that Igor was doing a lot of good work off the ball.
Think some are giving him unnecessary criticism after his poor pass near the end that they nearly equalised from. I think he was just knackered by that point and ran out of steam.
