  • I forgot to mention in my previous post, I also thought when he came on that bringing ben reeves on for the last 20 minutes and attacking instead of taking him off for the last 20 minutes and defending was probably going to be the difference between drawing the game and winning it

Very good performance. Made a last minute decision to go and really enjoyed it.

Cullen, Aribo, Bielik and Reeves all unplayable today.

Taylor covered so much ground in the last 5, proper body on the line stuff.

A proper win that, could see what it meant at the end.

Atmosphere in the ground was great, how did it sound on the box?

Some very impressive build up play. Aribo, Beliek, Williams, Reeves, Cullen all looked top end Championship.
Bowyer, Jacko and Stevie Gallen are doing so well. We have everything in place but a decent owner. COYRs

A proper football match between two sides who have known better times.
A complete performance with no weak links. Bielik was brilliant 1st half and Cullen was superb for 90 minutes.
Joe Aribo used his magic feet, and took his goal well.
Taylor enjoyed himself and had his best game since his buddy left.
BFG and Sarr were immense and seeing Sarr trying to score from his own half was funny.
I thought both full backs had very solid games and Igor worked hard even though he never looked like scoring today.
    We won on the Tele.
    Magic.

  • Best I've seen us play on the box for about a decade..!

    Cracking performance all around.

    PWR.

Not a lot of point describing the game because everybody who wanted to see it probably did.
A very good double over Portsmouth, and we won on the telly, Lyle scored (eventually, on that winning goal), three juicy points and reasons to be cheerful.
I hope Williams only has a minor knock.
Aribo was outstanding, shame his contract is up at the end of the season.
Josh Cullen unsung hero week after week.
All the players did their bit today, apart from possibly Igor I don't see as how all the rest are not a seven or higher.
I loved the bit of ballet dancing play from Naby in the second half.
The referee was a proper referee.
    We deserved to win.
    We did.

Any idea as to the real vs the paid attendance?

For 75 minutes of that game, that’s some of, if not the best football we’ve played this season.
Aribo and Cullen were huge and you could see Taylor’s attitude and performance lift after he scored.
Shame we couldn’t get a 3rd to save that 10mins of torture at the end but overall a very enjoyable game of football.
I also felt like Igor had a good performance. Bar blocking a goal bound effort, he ran the channels well and did look like he had some understanding with Taylor.

Defense coped well and good to see Dijksteel have a good game. Bauer is going to be a huge loss if we don’t get promoted. He’s now becoming more consistent and less mistake prone.

We were so much better than them but could have only got a point had Bauer not made a great block at the end or the Lowe ball hadn't eluded their player. When I say we were so much better, I mean a completely different class. Just wish we could convert a few more, we would piss this league if we could do that.

Best performance for a while and a deserved win.

Portsmouth nothing to write home about and wouldn't fear meeting them again this season.

Aribo MOM, he has such an impact when on his game and unlike the rest of our midfield he can score, but no one was poor.

Was the drummer on speed today?  Songs get faster and faster but some good noise. How did it sound on TV?

Barnsley have to play Sunderland and Doncaster in their next two.

A mini meltdown too much to ask for?

Cracking game that, no coincidence that Sunderland and Portsmouth have been the two biggest clubs down there this year and have resulted in two games a level above most of the others at this level. Real buzz about the place this afternoon.

we played superbly and our midfield across the board were outstanding. Cullen and Aribo the stars, but everyone was above average. Even thought Igor and Taylor were starting to develop a bit of an understanding.

this next three months has the potential of being a cracker. Stick with this team, there will be tight games we can help make the difference.

Today's result means f@ck all really.
All season we've played better against the better teams.
Been saying for a month now our season is a maximum of 3 games

I really don't see how we can lose 8 points in the table to two separate clubs between now and the end of the season and somehow miss the playoffs. Getting 3 while both Doncaster and Peterborough lose makes today the most important day of football for us in 2018-19.

Not a bad call, considering the teams left to play all look to be in a bit of a relegation battle!
