yesterday was a Good Day well done boyz ! what an important win and what an atmosphere at the valley thanks for the support everyone , on to tuesday now #CAFC
First game I have seen this season and I was impressed by all the players, some more than others. Obviously, we do not play like this every week or we would be top. Pleased Taylor did not get a yellow card, only one game to go, but I was impressed by his defending and chasing back in the last 10 minutes. From doing the matchday thread from comments made by others, it was good to see it in comfort, with a beer and making up my own mind on what was happening. I miss not having a season ticket and watching all home games but at least with CL I can follow everything that is going on

Who cares who we get. This team has hardly played any games together and are starting to gel , fosu will get better and better. Again any chance of Taylor playing up front and not covering 12000 miles in a game
Think everyone's summed up my thoughts pretty much. No doubt that Aribo performance was one of the best individual performances I've seen at the valley for a long time. But just wanted to say, what a determined, gutsy display that was. There's the saying 'given it 100%' but yesterday it was as if they gave it 100% and that little bit more. Non stop running from everyone and that's all we can ask for. Even if they were to equalize right at the end I would have left being so proud of that performance and happy with the way we played. Just hope they have enough in them to pick up another 3 points on Tuesday.
I think Parker hasn't been given a proper chance yet. He looked really sharp in the last reserve game, albeit that it was a reserve game. But against Sheffield Wednesday at least
Parker was truly dire against Blackpool ; granted that is not enough to judge him and you have taught me that all players deserve a chance
Like cabbles above, i feel its all been discussed.
I was seated with the German Addicks in the covered end upper, the place was rocking first to last minute.
I don't see many games where we are playing that good. Surely the day couldn't get any better?
Wrong ! We were invited into the players lounge, our captain, Patrick is a real gentleman.
Joe Aribo and Lyle Taylor were good enough to have pictures taken with us.
Wow what a day, I'm still emotionally drained though!
An outstanding performance from the team, superb entertainment and certainly the best I've seen us play this season. We made Pompey look a very limited side and were excellent value for the three points.
Our midfield was totally dominant, save for the last 10 minutes or so, when we dropped off 10 yards and started to look a bit leggy. Joe Aribo delivered the most complete performance I've seen from one of our midfielders for a very long time and was absolutely magnificent. He received excellent support from Bielik - who was imperious in the first half, Williams - who made some very penetrating runs and Josh Cullen - who combined tenacity with class and a prodigious workrate. Reeves and Fosu also did very well when they came on, with the latter's pace stretching Pompey as they were forced to push forward in the second half.
All our defenders did very well, with Bauer probably the pick of a very good bunch. He and Naby completely negated Oli Hawkins and they dealt extremely well with the crosses which came into our box from their dangerous wingers. I thought that Bowyer's decision to introduce Dijksteel also made sense, given his height and physicality.
Great to see Lyle Taylor get on the scoresheet - he needed that goal and he will hopefully now go on another scoring run. His defensive play and workrate at the end of the game were tremendous and encapsulated his total commitment to the cause.
It sounds like Bielik and Williams will miss Tuesday's game, which is a shame after Saturday's performance. Let's hope that they have only suffered minor strains and are in contention for the trip to Bristol Rovers next Saturday, following which we have a two week break following the Wycombe postponement. With six games in April, I'm sure that no chances will be taken with the players' fitness. Reeves and Fosu are the likely replacements, with Josh Cullen operating at the base of the diamond. Solly may also come back in and I wouldn't be surprised if Parkers starts, as Igor fitness is unlikely to be up to two games in four days.
I'm expecting a tough game against Burton, whose recent away form has been good, plus they probably feel they are due a break against us after the pummelling they administered at their place. With Peterborough and Donny both away on Tuesday (to Wimbledon and Blackpool respectively), we have a great chance to extend our eight point lead over them, provided that yesterday has not taken too much out of the players and Tuesday night does not become a case of 'after the Lord Mayor's show' at a sparsely populated Valley.
Maxwell, Dijksteel, Morgan, Lapslie, Marshall, Fosu, Igor
That’s the team I would go with, maybe Lapslie for Pratley. I think Igor needs a rest but if he’s fit enough I would go with him. We need to get a partnership going and even if Igor is not the same as old I still think he’s our best bet.

Reeves would be better at the point of the diamond and Aribo behind on the left hand side.
I expect Solly back at right back, but I would be very tempted to play Dyksteel in his proper position as a defensive midfielder in front of the back four and Cullen to partner Aribo.

Yeah Reeves could work with that. But I do like Aribo getting forward, I think he is at his best around the edge of the box as he showed yesterday and personally I prefer Reeves doing the passing just in behind. They can switch it around anyway and Reeves should definitely come in for Williams.
I thought about Dijksteel in CM too but with Pratley and Lapslie there and Dijksteel's first team inexperience in the role I don't think it's a time to experiment.
Wonderful atmosphere at the valley, great team effort against a very good side.Time ,for the time being to forget about RD,and help this excellent football team get promoted.Staying away and protesting is not going to make the sale happen any quicker at this stage of the season.

I disagree with that. I think Aribo has far better ball retention, greater mobility and he's far more likely to score a goal.
Personally, I'd play Fosu as the 10, Lapslie and Aribo , with Cullen at the base.

now, that team and that spirit and that result, is against the backdrop of a cancerous owner. Imagine where we would be with an owner who cares.
