Said it after the second day at Edgbaston. This England side do not score quickly enough when they're in. We put no pressure on the Aussies when they get in.
Marsh has proven an excellent change. If your specialist batsmen aren't scoring runs, seems silly to only pick 4 main bowlers when you have an all rounder option
How can Root in his intervieww say "oh series itvos not over". We will go out to win etc. Even after the ireland and this series he should be saying things like "our performanes are not good enough". " we need to better" etc. Even last test he had no plan b. In that 1st hour he tried 45 bowlers inside those 2hrs or so, we had Smith and his player batting and we gave them stokes or other bowlers to help kick them off.
Either Archer has too much money or he has shit for brains.
Just seen his wrist & he has a great big fucking watch on it. Above the glove & totally exposed. One hit on it with the ball & it will be in smithereens & the pieces all over the square.

Thinking of his sponsors. Even more so if it does get hit and isn't damaged after all.
Weirdly after a day where it didn't look like England would last the day batting, we're probably in a situation now where England would like to play on for few more overs and keep this tail wagging. With a few more overs they might have made it past 300. With a nearly new ball, and rested bowling attack to contend with first thing tomorrow, a lower score than that probably looks more likely.
I'm going tomorrow. Perfect sunny day for batting...
Looks like Leech is playing for cop & so you get to see England bat. He's taken the strike for the last 3 overs. 3 singles. Wtf....
golfie - sometimes you just have to accept that not every batsman can be as good at manipulating balls coming at 90mph. I do have access to a bowling machine if you would like to try it though.
Buttler is an incredibly honest guy. No dressing it up just says that he has found it incredibly hard this summer.
That stat that only Kohli has had more innings of 100 plus balls since May 2018 suggests that he's not a forlorn hope. What you can't have is Roy, Bairstow and Buttler in the side and it is time for two of them to go.
82 overs bowled today. Players walk off at 6.30pm in good light. No reason why the "lost" 8 overs couldn't have ben bowled. No reason at all.......apart from it not being in the "playing conditions"

Burns got the worst dose of commentators curse I have ever heard. Simon Mann and Tuffers on TMS. Tuffers "I don't want to jinx him but hes looked very solid, impressive" Mann: "I don't believe in the commentators curse we aren't that powerful. And Burns has got a thick edge on this one and he will go here...."
I totally agree, the commentators made him play that stupid shot!!!!
Buttler has probably done enough to continue, but Denly, Bairstow and Roy need to go. Get Sibley, Northeast, Pope & Foakes in the mix
Hasn’t Foakes averaged 27 or something this season? Before that I would have agreed
The best gloveman England have though, and did well when he got a go in the Test side. I love Bairstow but he needs to go away and sort his Test match technique out. Perhaps giving Buttler the gloves in the short term is the solution

We went pretty quickly in the first couple of sessions. When burns and root were together they went pretty quickly. Siddle in particular took some tap.
Our problem isn't not scoring quickly enough it's batting time. You need the application to see off the tough periods in order to cash in later. How many non rain affected tests go the distance now days? Very few. Scoring quickly isn't something to worry about. I would happily have boycott and cook at the top of the order batting 2 sessions for 50.

God you are full of beans today... you might aswell not bother watching it or checking updates as you know whats going to happen :P
Smith out for duck? one time surely...
All the way Joe......
That would give England 40 bonus runs.
See how quick teams bowl then.

The other two haven't.
Foakes has been batting 6 in a side that has massively struggled this year. He's been left in some impossible situations.
He certainly has the attributes for test cricket. He bats time and knows his game well. His century on debut showed that much.
