    Football fact:

Football loyalty by players is a myth:

Both Rooney and Gerrard were given massive pay rises to stay put.

Aubamayang will be on 250k a week for 3 years at the Arsenal ! Not bad for a guy who is now 32 !

Matt Le Tissier, may have been an exception and the Guernsey born player was the most naturally gifted footballer I have seen on the ball who have played for England (Paul Gascoigne was the main rival for that title)

Matthew was loyal to Southampton where he played for 16 years but his work rate and stamina was problematical, he had no pace and knew that he wouldn't be given a free reign at any of the top clubs. Only 8 caps for England proves that unless you build a team around him, Matt wasn't going to chase back.
This is not a fact. What about Steve Bull?

Not where near a fact, just an opinion.

Gerrard may have got a pay rise to stay at Liverpool, but I bet he could have earnt more at Chelsea. Yes it wasn't complete loyalty because he got an incentive to stay, but loyalty nonetheless.

Hard to save a penalty with your feet.

Was reading something about him other day. Although he's technically still registered as a player, he's played about 8 games in the last 5 years and did retire for 6 years back in 09.

Did Paul Scholes score more goals at St James Park than Kieron Dyer? Or have I made that up.

there was already an older defender playing for Brazil called Ronaldo so when Ronaldo (PSV /Barca/ Madrid) started in the team he was called Ronaldinho. Then when old Ronaldo retired Ronaldinho became Ronaldo and then another Ronaldo joined the team and was given the Ronaldinho name (the buck toothed lobber of David Seaman)

Just seen this one on Twitter...

Nottingham Forest and Notts County are separated by just 200 yards

They both played at home tonight for the first time in 30-years

And he hasn’t realised the game ended? Where does he think everyone has gone
    Perhaps it's foggy there.

Both teams fielded ineligible players and the normal punishment was a 3-0 loss, so they called it -3 to -3.

That's... Weird. I mean, is that a draw? Do they both lose? Its just a really weird situation.

Very odd, and not sure - just saw the stat!

Guess you'd award them both no points bit the stats don't work on calling it a 3-0 loss to both?

Not that weird, good but not world class players having the best season of their career plus one who sorted a lot of brown envelopes for referees.

Would you think they'd been amongst the 6 best players in a season though?
